Tetsuryou-kai [1815-1877]

At Nangakuji temple in Tsuruoka, Yamagata prefecture. This is the particular mummified Buddha that I visited in 1998; the first picture is the only photo I took that didn't have some form of reflection on the glass case completely ruining the view. I couldn't get closer without moving the stuff in front of the case... my next camera will have a better 'zoom', eh? The second picture is from the flyer the temple gave me about Tetsuryou-kai. I will add his story someday, when I get a decent translation.
