COMMUNITIES ON PATROL

by Sista Shiriki Unganisha

Greetings, sistas & brothas, as kkkop brutality intensifies in the Afrikan Communities across this country, we would like to share with you how S.T.A.C./SAFC attempts to deal with the harassment & brutality. Our young people are being jacked at alarming rates and we are trying to document such. We patrol our communities with STILL CAMERAS and TAPE RECORDERS, which we ride with at ALL times, and DON'T leave at home! Whenever we see kkkops with sistas/brothas jacked, we come out of our homes or stop and park our cars at a reasonable and legal distance. We make sure we have plenty of film, tape in the recorder, and good batteries.

The information we are attempting to gather is: person-jacked sistas, brothas, or both; total number of kkkops; how many white and black kkkops; the car numbers; the date, time; whether they let the victims go or arrest them; how you (the photographer) was approached; and whether or not you were able to talk to the victim(s). Our ultimate goal is teach the communities to begin to look out for one another and be witnesses for one another, get them to file a so-called "CITIZENS COMPLAINT" which ain't about dot; however, that's documentation also. In a later article, I'll explain how the so-called "Citizens Complaint" process works, which is a whole other story.

Brotha Sauti Nokware (photographer) is out in the hood at a time when the kkkops are at their best. I would like to take the time briefly to introduce Brotha Sauti to the communities. This brotha (55 years wise) is a strong Afrikan Warrior. He introduced me to radio, took me under his wings (I've been there ever since) teaching, directing, fussing, loving and being a hell of a mentor. I've NEVER met a brotha that works like a MADMAN so he will have FUNDS to help other sistas and brothas in need. He gives of his time to help ANY sistas and brothas any way he can. He's truly a beautiful brotha and we're in need of more.

We are by no means interfering with kkkops conducting so-called duties/business. We are ALWAYS on the opposite sides of the street and not in the street (which is against the law). KKKops DO NOT like getting their pictures taken. The way they deal with us taking their pictures is to call for back-up or come over to where we are taking pictures, attempting to intimidate us. Sistas and Brothas, it's NOT against the law to take pictures, is it? Of course NOT!

We will share with the communities how the kkkops deal with us taking pictures of them. In one incident there were about 30 kkkops or more at this house where they were talking to a young brotha. On the opposite side of the street, pictures were being taken. Kkkops came over and said, "Why are you taking pictures?" (Reply: "Not against the law.") Kkkop asked, "Who do you work for?" (Reply: "None of your business.") Kkkop stated: "Those guys almost ran over 10 children." (Reply:"Good you caught them. They broke the law, so arrest them.") Yet, these kkkops DID NOT arrest these young brothas. However, they towed the brotha's car, which was parked in his driveway!

In another incident, a knee-grow kkkop had a brotha jacked, called back-up. The back-up kkkop came, pulled behind the paddy wagon that the knee-grow was driving, then came into the parking where pictures were being taken. The kkkop wanted to know who was he (photographer) working for and complained that all he does is take pictures of white officers and he don't like white officers. The kkkop was told, "Isn't that a knee-grow kkkop?? The white kkkop left. I must say, while these kkkops are trying to intimidate us with their questions, we NEVER STOP taking pictures. What we have noticed is, about 50% of the time, kkkops let the victims GO that they have jacked. The victims give raised clenched fists and shouts of "RIGHT ON!!!!" We haven't been able to talk to the victims in these incidents because they leave before we can get to them. However, our time will come.

Sistas and Brothas, this is such a small task and ALL are encouraged to begin to be a "COMMUNITY ON PATROL." Isn't this what the Panthers did? We can simply be creative with our methods of patrolling. Instead of guns, we use STILL CAMERAS and TAPE RECORDERS. This is something S.T.A.C./SAFC has taken on to help teach us how to help ourselves. Nothing is written in stone. If something we're doing is not working, we'll change it. That which is working we want to find ways to improve. So Afrikan Nation, let's become "COMMUNITIES ON PATROL" all across amerika. The struggle continues. UNITED WE WILL WIN,UHURU
