Sonoma County Wine Country Oil Paintings

I am privileged to live in the middle of the wine country vineyards - The Dry Creek Valley outside of Healdsburg in the Sonoma Wine Country. I pass five wineries and acres of vineyards to get home. My "neighborhood" landscapes have glorious seasons and personalities for me to capture on canvas. Some of my paintings are accomplished on-site or "plein aire", other paintings are based on sketches and my personal photography. I range from using thick paint (impasto) on some creations to smooth, detailed observations on others. Enjoy!

Vineyard Workers and Grape Growers

The valley I live in is populated by families who grow grape vineyards. I've come to admire the people involved in the year round chores involved in nurturing their vines. Many of the smaller growers work the vineyards themselves with the help of their long time employees. I try to honor them by showing the details and personalities of their faces. They all have names and stories, I hope you enjoy my interpretations.
