Who I Am and What I'm Doing -- This is the webpage of Jason Thompson, author, manga fan and artist of the webcomic The Stiff. My encyclopedia of translated manga and introduction to the manga field, Manga: The Complete Guide, is available in stores now. I also write for Otaku USA Magazine. My current comics projects include short adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft's CELEPHAIS and THE STRANGE HIGH HOUSE IN THE MIST, which will hopefully be completed in Fall 2008. My adaptation of THE WHITE SHIP is available at girlamatic.com, although currently the pages are only accessible to site subscribers. I'm also working on a couple of other comic projects I can't announce yet.

Latest News -- I'll be at the following shows this summer:
- Anime Expo. I'll be moderating the panel "Manga in the U.S.: Ultimate Publisher Showdown" on Thursday, July 3 at 4:00 PM in Room LP4. Sadly, it's only open to press and industry, but if you fall in that category, or can fake it, come on by to watch me start arguments among a bunch of manga industry people. Unfortunately, my Jotaro cosplay may not be ready in time for the convention.
- San Diego Comic-Con. I'll be participating in two panels on Thursday, July 24 - "Lost in Translation" at 3:30-4:30 PM in Room 3, and "The Secret History of Manga in the U.S. ", my solo panel, at 6:00-7:00 PM in Room 4. In addition, "Manga: The Complete Guide" has been nominated for an Eisner award, so I'll be at the Eisners. Please stop by and, of course (before that), vote for my book. I'm just puttin' it out there.
