The "OMEGA-1" was built to be a high performance off road racing car. I built this one over 30 years ago, just for fun. I recently unpacked it, cleaned it up and added new wheels and tires.

I started with an IMC Ford GTP "J" Car road racer. The first thing I did was to shorten the body and frame. Next I added a hood scoop, roof scoop and enlarged the wheel wells. I detailed the engine with different thicknesses of sewing thread and made seat belts with small strips of cloth. Aluminum tubing was added to the ends of the exhaust pipes. Fine mesh brass screen was used to cover air intakes and cooling vents. I modified the suspension for more ground clearence. The original tires and wheels disenegrated so I used AMT Moonscope tires with Mags from the parts box. High Power Off Road Lights were added on the roof and an antenia was added to the rear of the car. The "OMEGA-1" and "MUDDERS DIRT WORKS" Decals were made with a product of the 1970's, I think it was called the "Ducal System". The "OMEGA-1" was painted with a light blue and then clear coated with Testors Glosscote.
