The primary purpose of the tournament is to have fun while gaining tournament experience.

The tournament is also used to determine which teams advance to the Area Tournament on December 2-3, 2006.

The six teams finishing highest in the Regional Tournament will advance to the Area Tournament.

Every player present must play at least one half of each game.

Each team will play 35-minute games for points against the three other teams in its pool.

The team finishing 1st in each pool will play in the Championship Game.

The team finishing 2nd in each pool will play in the 3rd Place Game.

The team finishing 3rd in each pool will play in the 5th Place Game.

The team finishing 4th in each pool will not play an additional game.

First Round and Playoff Game Format

Each game will consist of two 17.5-minute halves. There will be a SUBSTITUTION break at the end of the first half.

ONLY PLAYERS LEAVING THE GAME MAY LEAVE THE FIELD. Players staying in the game

may come to the touchline to get a drink but must return to their positions quickly. The break will last only 1-2 minutes.

TO KEEP THE TOURNAMENT ON SCHEDULE, ALL TEAMS MUST OBSERVE THE TIME LIMIT ON THIS BREAK.

COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT THEIR PLAYERS OBSERVE THIS TIME LIMIT.

Scoring

Tournament scoring will be used in the First Round:

Win:

6 points

Tie:

3 points

Shutout:

1 point (No points for a 0-0 tie)

Goals:

1 point for each goal (maximum per game: 3 points)

If two teams have the same point totals after the completion of the First Round, the tie will be broken in this order:

1. head-to-head result

2. fewer total goals allowed

3. larger goal differential (total goals scored minus total goals allowed; maximum: 3 per game)

4. coin toss

Game Schedules

All games will be played on JLS-1 and JLS-2.

The Home team (players, coaches, and spectators) playing on JLS-1 shall occupy the touchline on the west side of the field. The Home team (players, coaches, and spectators) playing on JLS-2 shall occupy the touchline on the east side of the field. The Away team (players, coaches, and spectators) playing on each field shall occupy the touchline on the same side of the field the Home team. No one (except Assistant Referees) should occupy the area between the two fields.
