Bicycling is my primary means of maintaining cardiovascular fitness. It’s fun, doesn’t hurt as much as jogging, and controls weight much better than swimming in moderation (and I'm no swimming maniac). I’ve been bicycling relatively seriously for most of the past 15 years. In fact, it was what got me into good enough shape to tackle northern California diving conditions.

I’m blessed with probably THE perfect bicycling place to play. The weather is relatively friendly year round (this was Greg LeMond’s training area during winter months for the Tour De France) and the terrain varies from flat to rolling to gruelingly steep, the choice being mine. I can leave home in the morning and pass through Redwood groves, vineyard country, Oak strewn pastureland, and coastal seascapes, all in the course of a single day’s ride. It's pretty much all good.
