As a nod to the financial means to many ends in my life, I'm an "Electronics Engineer". Working in electronics started in 1972 courtesy of the U.S. Air Force; sometime in 1978, I received a 1st assignment as an Engineer. It's been in some form of that capacity that I've made a comfortable living ever since. I've worked in the Weights and Measures industry (electronic industrial scales), as a consultant, in the Semiconductor Equipment field and, since the turn of the century, in the wonderously unstable world of datacom/telecom. My expertise is microprocessor solutions to embedded process control applications with extensive experience in process control algorithms, instrumentation, and industrial networking.

I have a couple of years experience developing software for Intel’s MCS-4 microprocessor (that, folks, was THE original microprocessor) but, thankfully, moved on. Since then, I’ve worked with Intel, Motorola, Signetics, Atmel, ARM, and RCA processor chipsets. Almost all of the projects have been a lot of fun; I still very much enjoy the technical aspects of microprocessor hardware and software design, and Dilbert strikes a regular chord from my past. One of these days, however, I’ll grow up, go to college and get a real job.

In the meantime, if you’re interested in the minutia of a career spent in the engineering trenches, checkout the HTML version of my resume.
