Thompson's Real

I first met Eric Thompson when we were both in our teens. He was already an accomplished bluegrass lead guitar player in the style of Clarence White and Doc Watson. He's continued to develop his skill through the years, and his high level of musicianship and taste are exemplified perfectly in this set of traditional bluegrass and fiddle tunes.
Most of the tracks were recorded in 1978, when they were released as an LP. The two bonus tracks from 1993 blend in nicely. For recorded music to still satisfy the artists more than two decades later is a feat in itself. "Thompson's Real" easily accomplishes that, and more. The performances are as timeless as the tunes themselves.
