COMPANY HISTORY |
|
|
Over the past 25 years RTR&DC has designed and developed dozens of projects in a variety of capacities. We have been responsible for or involved with locating, purchasing, designing and developing the restoration of 111 railcars vintaged from 1866 to 1935 (63 box cars, 16 refrigerator cars, 13 passenger cars and 19 cabooses). These railcars and structures were found in widely different locations and conditions before renovation and adaptation to their new uses. Each of these completed projects allow a new generation of users/visitors to journey back in time to eras when trains where the ultimate form of travel. The adaptive reuses of railcars and railroad structures for commercial and residential uses have many cost and marketing advantages over conventional construction. Under certain code and political circumstances they can present challenges. We are familiar with and have successfully dealt with every aspect of the restoration and development process.
