I apologize for the partial incompleteness; I couldn't find a background image that wasn't terrible; and I waited until the last minute so I didn't have time to make my own sampler pages.
(Next week will be better.)

I'm anxious to start learning more about how to put together web pages. I am also excited to use Notepad++. I've never used a program like this, and I'm a little wary as to how to use it, but I'll figure it out with enough practice. It'll be interesting, to say the least.

This 'homework page' assignment has been very confusing. I just can't wrap my head around how this homework page is going to be used to 'chart' our weekly assignments once completed each week. Please explain.
What I ended up doing is copying all the source code from your "homework sample page" and paste-ting that code onto a new html page I created called 'homework.html'.
I embelished this web page with my already existing .css style sheet, added an image, and personalized it to some extent.
On that note, I've downloaded an Html editor called "komodo edit" from ActiveState website,
and found it very confusing as well. I tried to run the program but it was taking over an hour to finish loading some pre-code installation, that's after I had already downloaded it and installed it. I found it more complicated and confusing to try to figure out how to use it and got very frustrated with it. I prefer to write html and css code from scratch, rather than depend on an editor program that seems more complicated than actually writing code from scratch. I certainly don't want to 'unlearn' what I've learned in the Part A of this class.
Perhaps in the future I will try it again, but for now I'd rather build my webpages from what I've learned and intend to learn over the next 7 weeks.
As soon as I send this form off I will go in and upload my new 'homework' html page to my student account, so it will be activated to the url noted above.
I wouldn't mind a telephone call to clarify some of my confusion as to this lesson 1 assignment for CS50.11B/Section 1380 Online.
Thanks, mervana foremski, tel: 820-1212.

I used Dreamweaver for the first time in Code view. It was rather challenging since I haven't used it in years -- and back then I used it in split view. I actually liked this better than using WordPad or other HTML editors. I did have a difficult time getting my image of the dog to appear. I realized I needed to create an image folder and place the image in there. Then I made a critical mistake -- I spelled the name without the hyphen ("roxy walk.jpg" instead of "roxy-walk.jpg"). That led me to try and try again. Finally I spotted my error! I then chose a size for the photo which would keep the original ratio so the photo wouldn't stretch. The assignment was actually for a challenge since I took the first part of the course in Spring 2013 and it's been a good six months. I also decided since I already had a folder on the server with my old work from CS 50.11A, I needed to create a new folder called "1380" for this course.

I am really starting to get an understanding of the file system both on my local computer and the remote server.
I reviewed Dreamweaver so far, and I really like it, and think the more I learn the program the more I will like it even yet.

First I used Dreamweaver to input the homework. But when Linda noted that Dreamweaver placed some older code into the header- older than what was in her homework example of Betty Boop I decided to change the header and downloaded Notepad++ to do it. It is a fast download and Notepad ++ is easy to use- so far at least. I do have Dreamweaver but I might not have access to it at some point, and if I am ever working with a client who is using Notepad I will be able to do so.
