Objective
Math-On-Line is designed for the
purpose of providing an easy to use simple website for high
school students, teachers, administrators, and parents to access,
retrieve, and process math information. Users will acquire
technology skills while learning a variety of math concepts.
Course assignments, retry-corrected tests, other math sites,
teaching material information, and e-mail comments are provided.
Chat room information exchange is not available at this time.
Math
Subjects
Math-On-Line course subjects being developed for online
access are Algebra I, Algebra A/B, Algebra C/D, and Algebra 2.
The material for the Algebra series is developed from the book Algebra
from Prentice Hall Publishers, 1998. The material for Algebra 2
is developed from the book Algebra 2 from
Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, 1997.
Tests
Math-On-Line tests are designed to introduce or
review of math concepts. Tests are designed with one word
answers, multiple choice (A, B, C, D), or numbers (#). Some
questions provide links for resource information. At
various times tests are restricted to assigned users. If you log
onto a test that requires a login name and password you can login
with the name "guest" along with the password
"guest". Upon completion of the quiz, the answers are
submitted for immediate feedback. Only the results of restricted
tests are automatically e-mailed to the webmaster with the
assigned login name. All other test results are for the users
benefit. Correct answers for the incorrect
responses are not provided. This method of feedback will
challenge the person to use various methods to achieve the
"correct" answer, i.e. textbooks, online of links, etc.
The test results will include a statistical analysis at the
bottom of the response form..
Assignments
Math-On-Line users are able to select course assignments for a
particular subject. If a student wants to send a comment to the
instructor about an assignment, the e-mail address for the
instructor is located at the top of the assignment page.
Other
Math Sites
The Other Math Site page provides the user the opportunity
to visit other math sites without a great deal of searching. The
page is by no means complete. If you have suggestions about the
organization of the Other Math Sites page, please send an e-mail
comment.
Comments
Math-On-Line users are encouraged to send e-mail comments
regarding suggestions, improvements, or corrections related to
the website.
