Each student
must wear a gi (rhymes with key )
for training. Gis will appear large at first, but it
is important that the upper body has plenty of room
for free movement. Pant legs and sleeves should be
altered if they are too long and women should wear
plain white undershirts. ISKF patches should go on
the left chest. No shoes or socks are worn while training;
watches or jewelry should be removed before class.
As part of proper dojo manner, students should not
wear their gi without the jacket and belt. Students
are also expected to wash their gis as necessary. Gis
are 100% cotton and will shrink after washing. To get
the most wear from your gi, we recommend that you wash
it in warm water, dry it with cool heat, and not use
bleach. If you do use bleach and you have an ISKF patch
on your gi, remove the patch first unless you want
it to turn pink and brown! (Attaching the patch with
velcro makes it easy to remove for washing.) |
