1. Safety first. Show spirit, enthusiasm, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times and do nothing that might endanger the well-being of others in class.
2. Be on time for class. If possible,
come early enough to stretch and warm up before training.
3. Bow as you enter or leave the
training floor.
4. When class is scheduled to begin,
line up quickly and quietly in order of rank.
5. Do not chew gum, talk, laugh,
or giggle during class.
6. Do not excuse yourself from class
without the instructor's permission. If you must leave
early, get permission BEFORE class starts.
7. Wear a clean, white karate gi
and mend tears or holes as necessary.
8. Keep fingernails and toenails
short; do not wear watches or jewelry while training.
9. Respond quickly to instructions;
never argue with your instructor.
10. Always address your instructor
using the term "Sensei" (pronounced Sin-say) or the appropriate "Mr." or "Ms." and the instructor's last name.
11. Black belts who are not instructors
should be addressed using the term "Sempai" (pronounced Sim-pie), or as "Mr." or "Ms." and the student's last name.
12. Pay all fees promptly.
13. Notify your instructor when absent
due to illness, injury or vacation. |
