Reason #3
Earn Respect
I hear it all the time.
“You’re a black belt? Well I don’t want
to mess with you.”
What do people really mean when they say
this. They are acknowledging that the Black
Belt is a symbol of excellence, achievement,
skill, success and performance and they
respect this. But what they may not know
is that through the process of earning your
black belt you will be developing your character
and becoming the best person you can be.
And for this they will respect you even
more. This is a good thing. Having earned
respect because of who you are is of much
greater value than being feared because
of how dangerouse you might be.
With ASK Karate
training your child will not only get more
respect from other kids and will have the
skills to deal with the bullies and roughnecks
of the world; but will become a better person
because of it.
Reason #4 Relieve Stress
Stress can be defined as
the build up of tension from tangible and
intangible threats. In pre-historic times
when you were being chased by a Sabre-Tooth
Tiger your anxiety was relieved when you
killed the Tiger or escaped and the Tiger
went on his way. In modern times many of
the dangers we face are not physical but
emotional, psychological or financial and
can create anxiety that can last for years.
Your company is downsizing and you could
be next to go. It’s raining and your
roof is leaking. Your child is sick and
the doctors are stumped. Your car is on
it’s last wheel; you just discovered
that your fence is 12 inches onto your neighbors
property and he’s threatening to sue.
All these things can put you in a constant
state of worry and make you feel that at
any minute you’ll go nuts!

ASK Karate
will train you to focus on a target or objective
and to direct your energies towards resolving
the conflicts non-violently, no matter how
unnerving the circumstances maybe. And the
execution of Karate techniques will empty
your mind of negative thoughts and emotions
and allow you to act appropriately.
Reason #5 Feel Great and Have More Energy
Our students are bursting
with energy and so will you! When you get
done with an ASK Karate
workout you will feel great! You’ll
be relaxed, energized and ready to take
on the day or night. After an ASK
Karate workout your muscles
will be loose, your breathing will be deep
and even, all your worries will be gone
and you'll be on top of the world.
Reason #6 Get Physically Fit
ASK Karate
training is an excellent way to improve
your physical conditioning. It’s something
you can do everyday. You can work hard or
soft, fast or slow, in a relaxed way or
with great tension (a means of building
strength). Whatever suits how you feel that
day. The continuous exercise keeps you feeling
great and weight control becomes easy.
Reason #7 Get Emotionally Fit
Because our minds, bodies
and spirits are connected; when you physically
work on your balance, stability and the
skill of changing directions, you are simultaneously
working on your mind and spirit. The result
is that you become more emotionally stable
and more emotionally capable of handling
changes and challenges that come your way.
Also through ASK Karate
training you will develop equanimity of
mind- a condition of mind that allows you
to stay the same person no matter what might
happen to you. For example you might win
$100 Million in the lottery or you might
loss everything you have and yet through
either of these extremes, both good and
bad, you remain the same person. This is
a very good thing.
Reason #8 Get More Enjoyment Out of Your
Life
All of this adds up to your
having more enjoyment of the good things
in life, such as, an afternoon’s nap,
a good night’s sleeping, a favorite
treat, a slow rock in the rocking chair,
a child’s laughter, being with family,
a Sunday outing, a trip to the movies, an
ice cream sundae, roller skating in the
park, hiking to a nearby mountain or lake,
the smell of new mowed grass, the pleasure
of baking bread, and many more things too
numerous to mention. At ASK
Karate we feel that “Life
is Grand” when you have a training
system that will give you all of this and
more.
