Alex's 62 Nova

Specs & Info:

1962 Chevy II Nova Sports Coupe
Assembled - Oakland, Ca
Original Owner - Moraga, Ca

I purchased the car in October of 1996. I was doing the owner a favor It didn't run and the passenger door and quarter were crunched. The roof had severe damage and I must have been on drugs when I bought it. You cant really tell from the before picture but the door and quarter panel were crushed and curled back at the door jamb. When I finally got the car to the garage it only took my friends and I 72 hours to strip the car to the pan. I threw everything away so that I would be forced to but the car back together with only new parts (not recommended).

Every part has been replaced  except glass, steering column, gauges, e-brake cables and under dash wiring. The second round of body work consisted of 68 hours and a lot of patience. Paint was finally laid down (Ford E8 Red) and the car was ready for assembly.

The car is a pretty standard setup. 380 HP 4-Bolt 350 hitched to Turbo 350 topped off with a 10 Bolt Richmond 3:55 Posi rearend. Power Disk Brakes were added for safety reasons and The steering was completely replaced to Original Specs, Except for 64 SS steering arms needed for the bigger spindle. Suspension was upgraded with standard Moroso and Comp. Eng. Subframe Connectors, Springs and Shocks. 63 Interior was installed and basically left alone with a few exceptions in the shifter and gauge department.

All Bolts, Screws, Seals, Gaskets, Pads, Stickers, Lenses, Bulbs, Wiring, Rubber and any other knickknacks have been replaced thanks to J&W, Ted Williams, Jim Dyer, Classic Industries, and The Paddock.

I would like to thank Lori for putting up with the hours and mess, Chris for the garage, Warren for the finishing touches, Joel in general and everyone else who turned a wrench on this project.
