Born, raised and educated in San Francisco, California, I moved out here to the "country" 34 years ago.
Since graduating with a degree in geography in 2004, I have been working at Sonoma State University as a special consultant with the NFS Sudden Oak Death Project. Sudden Oak Death (SOD) is a lethal disease of oaks and tanoaks that has reached epidemic proportions in parts of California, and has resulted in the death of thousands of trees. To learn more about this disease that is killing oak trees in California go to: suddenoakdeath.sonoma.edu
