Consumables

Under Construction...

When we prepare our own food and buy locally grown and manufactured products, we and our local businesses, including farms, are healthier.  In addition, we avoid the economic and environmental costs of  transporting food from long distances, fewer bottles, jars, plastic containers, bags and boxes clutter up our kitchens and we spend less time managing our discards.

Future additions:

How to make your own yogurt, salad dressings, sauces, condiments and desserts.

Why are we taking up your valuable time talking about sauces and paper containers when we are daily confronted with much bigger problems?

Because everybody has to start somewhere, and simple, straightforward practices, like preparing our own food, reusing bags and driving less, help us address complicated challenges like unwanted food additives, resource shortages, landfill closures and air pollution.

The choices individuals make day-to-day really matter, and the sooner we shrink our individual footprints the better it will be for the earth and us.
