Mike Burnett was born in Glendale, CA and after moving several times (My father was career Army) we landed in Denver when I was 10. I enlisted in the Navy in April 1965, boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, then to the USS Tom Green County, LST 1159. We were homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. We carried troops and vehicles to Vietnam. In November 1966 I was sent to San Diego, completed Hospital corps school and was assigned to Balboa Naval Hospital. I served as the leading Corpsman and Ward Administration Tech on the Chest Medicine Service until my separation in Nov. 1968. Honorable Discharge received in April 1971. Spent 25 years in retail furniture sales and management. Porter Carner Clubroom manager since 1996.
