Auxiliary News : Lorraine Elwood
Some you may not have received the "Keeping Step" for September and October. I understand there was a mailing "snafu". Bet the Post Office was glad. I am writing about a few of the items that were in that printing.
The "Flea Market", held from May to September 17, 2006, did well , especially the months of May and September 17. Thanks to all who purchased items., at the booth and a special THANK YOU to the ladies who manned the booth those months and in years past. Such dedication is truly appreciated. It is quite a job. GOD BLESS THEM!
September 20, 2006 was our "Youth Appreciation Night", but it was poorly attended. Not enough adults seem to appreciate the young people who participated in "Girls and Boys State". All we seem to read about or hear about are the negative things young people do so a positive one deserves our whole hearted support.
The new Auxiliary officers are: Jean Mueller--President; Cathy Clark--1st Vice President; Norma Harrison--2nd Vice President; Sandra Paxton--Secretary; Lorraine Elwood (yours truly) - Treasurer and Elaine Simmons--Chaplain. Executive Board--Nancy Mough, Rosemary Parks and Bea Turner.
The Auxiliary Christmas Party will be December 2, 2006, from Noon until 4:00 P.M. at the "Veterans ' Building". Ages are up to eleven (11) and younger and it is for Veterans and their children or grandchildren. RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 19, 2006. Call Jean Muller at 542-6723 for reservations (number of children, etc). PLEASE REMEMBER THE DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS IS 11--19--2006.
Don't forget to pay your dues. We need a strong Auxiliary and your membership counts.
