This one
is currently un-owned and open. This tomb explains how they can bury so
many people in these things. Time was, cremation was not done, and they
couldn't bury people in the ground. So they constructed these tombs,
which acted like ovens. After a year or two of being baked by the sun in
one of these there isn't much left, so if you need to bury someone else
you open the tomb, open the coffin, take out the remains in the winding
sheet and place it in the bottom half of the tomb- which is just bare
earth. Decomposition finishes very quickly. In the wall tombs and some of
the others the remains are simply swept aside.
