The dumpsters. Why did I photograph the dumpsters? Earlier I mentioned that they reuse these tombs by emptying out the coffins into the open ground in the tombs. Apparently there is no ritual for managing the coffins, which are usually pretty decayed themselves. They are thrown out in the trash. Our tour guide told us that just a few months ago there was a freshly vacated coffin sticking out of these dumpsters- a great missed photo op.
