The 'Hook and Ladder' tomb. 12 coffin spaces, where lots of firemen have been buried and I think they still do this. The little plaque at the top commemorates firemen who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This tomb is kept up by the city. This is also the tomb Anne Rice modeled the Mayfair witches' tomb on. She took some creative license; she placed a fence around the tomb that is actually around the tomb across the way (next picture). Also, in her book the plaque at the top has a picture of a door that is actually a description of her own front door (there's a picture of that later). This tomb also helps illustrate what I said before about the high water table here. Notice how the four spaces at the bottom only seem half as high as the others? The tomb is slowly sinking into the earth.
