The treasurer’s report submitted by Jerry Hughes was read by Penny Hutten

Misty talked about a fundraiser for Jeff Tobes class involving sales of a Millennium Calendar. They are raising money for their 30 mile hike day to come at the end of the semester. The cost is 12.50 at Kinkos and will sell for 20.00 each. It is a calendar using 13 vintage Forestville photographs, the cover is to be the photo used for the magnets the school sells. The absolute deadline for calendar orders is December 1, 1999, but she prefers them to be in by Thanksgiving. phone Misty  at home .

The Magnets will be available for purchase at the Forestville Post Office.

Roberta also asked about fund raising.

There was short report on the History Tour presentation we held at the school auditorium on Oct. 31, 1999, including photo sales and open memberships. There was excellent attendance and people seemed to enjoy the walking history tour and tour map handouts as well as the historic photo and artifact displays, but sales of the photo packets were not abundant, so we discussed how else to sell them. It was suggested we ask the Pharmacy, West America Bank and several other businesses in town if they would be willing to have them for sale distribution.

Expenditures far exceeded the income from our presentation, and we need to make up the difference.

The matter of the new Library and the time capsule connected with it was talked about. We need to decide what to put in the time capsule before August. Several ideas were expressed but no decisions made at this time.

Our expected speaker could not make it. Simone Wilson, had the flu and laryngitis and had no voice.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:40 pm

Respectfully submitted, Verna Blanc, secretary
