The meeting was called to order by Penny Hutten 3:04 p.m.

There were eight members present: Penny, Lorraine, Virginia, Lynn, Darleen, Florence, Warren and Verna.

Being a nice day, we met outside in the shade at the front of the building.

The secretary read the minutes of the last meeting, which were approved as read.

The treasurer’s report showed a balance of $520.00

In new business, we now have a mailing address:

Post Office Box #195, Forestville, Ca 95436

Also in new business, we have registered our Articles of Incorporation and are now an official Historical Society in California.

Old business includes the library at El Molino High School in which we will be able to keep our Forestville Historical Society collection of books and photographs. We will have space in a special display case. Eventually we will have a little museum where we will be able to show some local historical artifacts, as well. The library is open during school hours on week days, and Joel Newburg, the librarian, will be happy to answer any questions at 824-6553.

Darleen will have some of the older books appraised, which may lead to some of them being stored elsewhere. We will update as new information becomes available.

As you enter the door, the Sonoma County Library, Forestville Branch, is on the left. Farther down the hall is the El Molino High School Library on the right. It is here that we will have our space, in the area just inside the library entrance.

In other old business, we discussed what a good time all had at Georgetown and how we would like to do it again sometime, hoping for an even better turnout. Thank you to Jerry Hughes for putting pictures of the event on the web.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:27 p.m., and we enjoyed some of Lorraine’s home made cookies.

Next month’s meeting will be at 3: 00 p.m. November 4th, 2000.

Respectfully submitted,

Verna Blanc, Secretary.
