Members present were Don John Anderson, Verna Blanc, Brian Bower, Lavon Covington, Ron Davis, Virginia Hughes and Florence and Warren Templeman. The secretaryТs report was read and approved. The treasurer reported that we have 2,672.24 in the bank. Eighty three calendars have been sold for a total of 180.00. Dues were received from one new member, Karel Moore. The Society was offered an old fire truck but it needs rebuilding wo we had to turn it down. Don said he was putting out feelers for a place where we can meet. He looked at a trailer and a Сlittle log cabinТ syle place. he thought the Gazette could run a short article about our need. Brian Bower said he could possibly get us a railroad car to meet in. It was determined we should find the land first for a permanent meeting polace, then consider the type of meeting place to put on it. Virginia made a motion that Don should write an article for the local papers about our need for land and possibly a trailer we could use as a meeting place. Verna seconded the motion, which passed. Ron Davis has agreed to be our telephone person. He will call the members and remind them about the meetings each month. It was decided that the secretary should send a thank you to Dave for his part in collating of the calendar page addition. The names of the baseball team members pictured on the October calendar page were inadvertently omitted and Dave Donated the paper and printing. Virginia found people to help slip the additional page into all the calendars not yet sold. Thanks again Dave. John wondered if we could get the Forestville Cemetery cleaned up. He suggested our group do it. He will investigate getting a work party together for this. Perhaps high school students. Don bought 10 calendars for gifts. He and Ron will set up a booth at the Great Forestville Outhouse Race and Chili Cookoff to sell more of them. Don had to leave early so Virginia, our Vice President, took over the remainder of the meeting, which closed at 8:20 P.M. Our next meeting will be on October 15, 2003, at 7:00 P.M. Respectfully Submitted, Verna Blanc, Secretary ind the land first for a permanent meeting polace, then consider the type of meeting place to put on it.
