Abstract Pieces

For a very long time I've wanted to try abstract art, but believed that I couldn't do it. I'd say that I was a representational artist and I'd leave abstraction to those who did it well. But over the years my art became more abstract, but still representational. Then a few months ago I realized that abstract art was more about the process of doing than any rules that someone hundreds of years ago set down about what art should be, or look like.
This was a very freeing realization and without any rules or preconceived notion I took out a piece of previously painted on paper (unsuccessful painting) and started to "play"
Here are the results of my playing.
