WHAT SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING MUST BE SAID: The individuals who run these support groups are themselves sick, often very sick. Meeting dates, time, and places change as the hosting site changes their policies and schedules relating to the provision of free meeting space for local support groups. Because some callers harrassed and annoyed the volunteer group leaders and their families, or called at totally inappropriate times of day or night, I have removed most of the phone numbers from these listings to protect the lives and limited energy of those who give of their severely restricted functional time to others.

The support group is an educational group open to patients, families, friends, and health care professionals interested in learning more about the diagnosis, treatment, research and living with FM.

Meetings
The group meets one Saturday each month. Meetings are usually on the 3rd Saturday, but this changes depending upon holidays and availability of speakers; check website for current happenings. The meetings, from 12:30-2:30 PM, are held at Napa Valley College, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway in the ASB Lounge in the cafeteria building (map).

There is a 1/2 hour "social" from 12-12:30 PM. Members and guests are welcome to bring a lunch or snack with them.

Comments
Most months there is a speaker (i.e., MD, physical therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist, pharmacist, acupuncturist, etc.).

There is no charge for the meeting. We have members and guests from the valley (Napa, St. Helena, Yountville, Calistoga) as well as Fairfield, Vaccaville, Vallejo, Crockett, Petaluma, and Sonoma. We welcome new members and guests and have placed our meeting time to allow for easy travel during daylight hours.

An * next to a group name indicates that this group may be defunct or inactive.
