The Sonoma
County Knitting Guild (SCKG) is simply a local group of
knitters and crocheters who gather together throughout the
month to sit and knit, share, help one another over the
sticky bits, and give and receive inspiration as we delve
deeper into creating fiber with knitting needles and crochet
hooks. Some of our meetings are mini-classes or workshops,
with speakers and teachers invited to speak and demonstrate
on a number of related subjects.
The SCKG members participate in several community knitting projects, including the Sonoma Blanket Project, Project Linus, and knitting for The Living Room. Information on these and other community knitting projects can be found on our Community Projects page. You do not have to be an SCKG member to come to meetings and KANS (knit-at-nights). You do have to be an SCKG member to receive our monthly newsletter, join and participate in our SoCoKnits email list, and take advantage to any discounts the may be offered from time to time to SCKG members. For more information, please see the Membership page. (If you don't live in our area and would like to find a knitting club or guild near you, check out MapMuse's Knitting & Crochet Clubs on a Map!) To find out about our regularly scheduled meetings and KANS, please check those pages. SCKG typically has two knitting retreats each year, in June and November. To found out about the upcoming retreats, check out our Retreats page. Guild members represent a wide range of experience, expertise, and interests. Many members are relatively new to knitting and/or crocheting, others have been knitting and crocheting for decades, and some are just coming back to working with needles and hooks after many years. Some of our members spin and weave, some are professional teachers and published authors or pattern designers. Whatever your interest or skill level, you will find a welcoming community of women--and a few men and some students. Did you miss our Sock Symposium? You can still get a copy of the booklet everyone received Check out our Sock Symposium page for the booklet and links to sock sites recommended by our panelists.. |
