        Law Office 2000 is Corel's latest version of their legal-specific office 
        suite.  
        Corel has been committed to the legal industry since 1997, when they created 
        WordPerfect Suite 7 - Legal Edition, followed in 1998 with WordPerfect 
        Suite 8 - Legal Edition. Now with WordPerfect Law Office 2000, they have 
        presented their best effect yet. The suite includes general applications, 
        legal specific software, and a disk full of 12,000 clipart images, 1,000+ 
        TrueType and Type 1 fonts, 200+ digital photos, and extra masters for 
        Corel Presentations 9. The suite allows you to use the familiar Reveal 
        Codes feature in WordPerfect 9 and Corel RealTime Preview--available throughout 
        the suite--to format long or complex documents quickly. You can take advantage 
        of leading tools for case management, document assembly and proofreading

      Law Office 2000 is an excellent investment. The new Internet options of 
      the program are a welcome addition. It is now easy to publish to the Internet, 
      either as a web page, an intranet page, or an extranet page. Being able 
      to save a document directly in Adobe's PDF format will be useful for electronic 
      filing. With this edition, Corel put a heavy emphasis on compatibility so 
      you can easily convert Word documents for use in WordPerfect and get much 
      better results. Overall, the enhancements are not just fancy bells and whistles 
      that look good but have very little functional use. They are user-friendly 
      and functional. Corel was guided by usability aspects, and the new real-time 
      font preview is an indication of such focus on detail. And the same preview 
      option is in Presentations and Quattro Pro. Another user-oriented feature 
      is the auto-scrolling feature that speeds up your scrolling through long 
      documents. The document comparison features in this version are excellent 
      and equal those found in many separate comparison programs, and are easier 
      to use. The new ways to generate reports in Quattro Pro is a bonus, and 
      Corel Presentations has become a more robust program with its drawing and 
      charting features. Finally, with this program, Corel appears to have conquered 
      the stability problem it had with previous versions of WordPerfect. We have 
      been using it for a while and have not had any crashes or any problems. 
      It seems quite stable. In comparison with its rival, Microsoft Office Suite, 
      it is significantly cheaper, contains an array of extra applications that 
      matches Microsoft's extras, and still has more features suited to the legal 
      profession. Microsoft Office does have some features that legal professionals 
      can use, but it is not have a legal-specific suite. If you bought the included 
      legal add-ons individually, you would spend quite a bit more. Corel WordPerfect 
      Law Office 2000 is a topnotch suite, either for first-time users, or as 
      an upgrade, that will save you time and money! |
