Feeling a bit better...

Well, something I took is making a difference... two vicodin, sudafed, augmentin, neurontin, prednisone, a nap, and a shower are all kicking in simultaneously to make me feel quite a bit better. Not totally better -- I'm still tired and in pain -- but at least the pain is tolerable and I'm relaxed. I was basically in agony earlier, it was as bad as my post-surgical pain last year, except in my face/jaw/lymph nodes rather than abdomen.

On a vaguely related note, does anybody know of an agent that would prevent/remove mold but *not* be harmful to the inside of a body? My cecostomy bag keeps growing black mold, and I don't want to treat it with bleach much more because *that* destroys the bag a bit at a time. I've asked the VATER boards, only to be told that other people are running into the same problem with their gastro equipment. :p

I've heard garlic is an effective anti-fungal, but it would probably hurt sensitive tissues - sort of like hot sauce. They give caprylic acid as a 'natural' candida cure, and since candida is a mold, it might help with fungus in general. Also, you might try yoghurt or acidophilus - the acidophilus bacteria will displace yeast/fungus by itself. Maybe take a look at athlete's foot remedies since that is a fungal infection.
Tea Tree Oil is also anti-fungal.

I have no idea about the appropriateness of any of those to what you want, but they all are anti-fungal, and non-prescription, and mostly non-toxic.
