Encyclia bractescens
A New World species found in the warmer tropics. Blooms in the spring (and sometimes in the fall) with long lasting flowers on arching inflorescences. Likes it warm and fairly bright light.

Encyclia citrina
A Mexican species that is sometimes called The Hanging Tulip because of its appearance. Blooms in the spring/summer. Likes it intermediate to cool with moderate to bright light. Will grow out-of-doors in temperate climates. Has a wonderful fragrance of sweet citrus. Will grow mounted upside-down or in pots as they can be tilted

Encyclia cochleata
Another Mexican species that is sometimes called The Squid Orchid because of its appearance. Blooms sequentially for months. One of the easiest orchids to grow and flower. Wide temperature tolerance with moderate to bright light.

Encyclia mariae
A delightful Mexican species that grows best mounted. The trumpet-like flowers are pendant and quite large for the plant size. Intermediate with moderate light. Blooms spring/summer. Often has multiple flowers on a single inflorescence. Lots of water in summer, but prefers it drier during the winter.

Encyclia vitellina
Another Mexican species with long lasting flowers and intense color. Prefers to grow on the cool side and in temporate climates can be grown outdoors year around. Needs a good light source, but no direct sun.

Epidendrum difforme
A Mexican species that grows well and produces multiple clusters of greenish flowers. Prefers intermediate temperatures with moderate light. Easy to grow!

AKA Oerstedella endresii

A minature species that produces several flowers on the end of is growth. Prefers intermediate to cool temperatures with moderate light. Easy to grow!

Epidendrum (haemathantum x cinnabarinum)
Primary hybrid of a large flowered "reed" epi with a smaller (but greater in number) pink epi. The result is a nice medium red with the cinnabarinum lip and a higher flower count from the haemathantum. Wide temperature tolerance with moderate to bright light.

Epidendrum Hokulea Sunset
A hybrid of a large flowered "reed" epi. Produces heads of brilliant red/orange flowers that last for months. Begins flowering when about 10 inches tall but will grow to several feet, tall, slender, and svelt. Wide temperature tolerance with moderate to bright light.

Epidendrum ilense
An Ecuadorian species whose habitat has been destroyed. Because it is now extinct in the wild, we are offering blooming size plants grown from seed to keep this species around. It's a wonder in itself with its fimbriated lip. Large specimen plants are in bloom year around. Do not cut the spike on this guy. After the flowers fall, more come right behind it. It likes it intermediate to warm with a good, bright light source (no direct sun). Blooms last for months.

Epidendrum paniliculatum
Medium sized epidendrum produces a "U turn" spike with a panacle of green flowers, large white lip with a dollop of mangta. They flower easily and like intermediate temperatures with moderate to bright light.

Epidendrum polyanthum
A Mexican species that produces panacles of orange/lemon sherbert colored flowers. Grows intermediate with moderate to bright light. Uncommon and not easily found. Blooms spring through summer.

Epidendrum pseudepidendrum
Although this brightly colored reed epi flowers at about 18" in height, it will conintue to grow to about 4'. It has a wide temperature tolerance and grows just about anywhere. Likes moderate to bright light.

Epidendrum stamfordianum
This Colombian species likes it bright and warm. It will reward you with arching, pendant inflorescences of speckled flowers that last a month or more.

Epigenium cymbidioides
A former member of the dendrobium genus, this plant resembles a miniature cymbidium in its growth habit. Grows on the cool side of intermediate in moderate to bright light. Water year around. Flowers early winter.

Galeandra lacustris
A New World species that stands about 10" tall producing these open tuba-like flowers with a spur on the back side. Prefers intermediate temperature with moderate light. Semi-deciduous. Often blooms on bare canes. When flowers drop, do not cut spike. It will rebloom shortly in the same area. Very different.

Gastridium aureum
Formerly in the dendrobium family (taxonomists need jobs too). These brilliant golden orange flowers are produced up and down the cane. Flowers are short lived but bloom many times a year. These are large plants and make a stunning spectacle of themselves. They prefer intermediate temperatures with medium to low light.

Goodyeara schlectdendaliana
Another Jewel Orchid grown primarily for its beauty of foliage. The plant will stay quite small in a 3" pot. Likes intermediate to cool tempeatures. Produces an upright spike. Moderate light. Easy grower and vigorous!

Haraella retrocalla
This is a Taiwanese species also known as H. odorata. It is a miniature plant that blooms many times throughout the year, often producing multiple flowers. Blooms are long lasting and are bigger than the plant. Prefers intermediate to warm temps with moderate light. Another easy grower and vigorous!

Holcoglossum amesiana
aka Vanda amesiana

This is a member of the vanda family with a wide temperature range, but actually preferring it on the cool side with strong light. Can be grown out-of-doors with cymbidiums in temporate climates. If you grow in the house or greenhouse, find a nice cool place. VERY powerful fragrance - some say gardenia, jasmine, or mock orange. A must for fragrance nuts.
