Encyclia bractescens
A New World species found in the warmer tropics. Blooms in the spring (and sometimes in the fall) with long lasting flowers on arching inflorescences. Likes it warm and fairly bright light.

Encyclia cochleata
A Mexican species that is sometimes called The Squid Orchid because of its appearance. Blooms sequentially for months. One of the easiest orchids to grow and flower. Wide temperature tolerance with moderate to bright light.

A Mexican species that has fragrant, long lasting flowers. Blooms last for months. Warm temperature and bright light are best for this species. Lots of water in summer, but prefers it drier during the other seasons

Epidendrum longipetalum
This rather small epiphyte sends out a long spike terminating in a somewhat translucent-like flower with a soft pink lip. They flower easily and like intermediate temperatures.

Epidendrum miserum
This rather small epiphyte sends drops its leaves in winter and rests until spring. The bare bulbs then produce these exquisite little flowers that last about two months. Late spring, summer, and fall is the growing period. They flower easily and like cool temperatures.

Epidendrum pseudepidendrum
Although this brightly colored reed epi flowers at about 18" in height, it will conintue to grow to about 4'. It has a wide temperature tolerance and grows just about anywhere. Likes moderate to bright light.

This Colombian species likes it bright and warm. It will reward you with arching, pendant inflorescences of speckled flowers that last a month or more.

Epigenium cymbidioides
A former member of the dendrobium genus, this plant resembles a miniature cymbidium in its growth habit. Grows on the cool side of intermediate in moderate to bright light. Water year around. Flowers early winter.

Inobulbon munificum
Endemic to New Caledonia, this fascinating plant weaves a "basket" around its pseudobulbs at maturity. Arching, pendant spikes emerge from the base and branch out with many flowers about the size of a 50 cent piece. Grows intermediate to warm with moderate light. Often blooms twice a year.
