An African species that is highly fragrant at night. Likes to grow on the warm side of intermediate with moderate light and is especially fond of humidity.

Lepanthes maxoni
A tiny Colombia species that fits in the palm of your hand. Large flower for lepanthes. In flower almost all the time, all year. A real treasure for miniature lovers. Grows cool and very wet. Do not buy this plant unless you are familiar with lepanthes. Limited number available.

Lepanthes tsubotaeAnother tiny guy from Colombia, but the flower is as big as the plant. Flowers regularly throughout the year. Must be kept cool and on the damp side. Another one not to buy unless you are familar with lepanthes. This one is very, very rare. Limited number available.

Lycaste aromatica
True to its name, the butterscotch/orange flowers emit a sweet, spicy fragrance. Found from Mexico to Guatemala at about 4000', these plants are deciduous and like a winter rest.

Lycaste denningiana
Found high in the Andes of Ecuador and Peru. Produces large, somewhat nodding flowers in olive green/light brown with bright orange lip. Prefers cooler temperatures with bright light.

Beautiful beige/ochre lycaste with bright orange lip. Hard to find and usually quite expensive. This grows intermedite to cool temperatures. Lots of water in its growing season. Moderate light. Blooms in the fall. Large flower.

Lycaste deppei
Found in Mexico, Nicuragua, and Guatemala it is unique among its genus mates as the only lycaste with white petals and an orange lip. These plants are sometimes deciduous and appreciate a winter rest.

Lycaste trifoliata
One of the more vegetatively beautiful lycastes with its long, slender pseudobulbs and thin leaves. Flowers are produced in shades of soft green with a white, frilly lip. Comes from Peru and enjoys the cooler side of intermediate.
