IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Maureen Immer

Come Spring

Early barefoot day
Under my tender white soles
Feel of heat rising.

Leaving the concrete
To crisp grass between the toes
Reaching for the hose

Cold water running
Head cocked off to the side
Gulping in freshness.

Maureen Immer's questions:

This grouping of three haiku -- do they work together? Would each stand alone?
