Therapy Dogs work to provide comfort and companionship to people who
are in hospitals, nursing homes and
other institutions and wherever else the Therapy Dog is needed.
Therapy Dogs International is a
nonprofit organization that is a volunteer group organized to provide
qualified handlers and their Therapy Dogs for the visitations.
Both purebreds and mixed breed
dogs are welcome at TDI, however, all TDI dogs must be certified before
going to work as a Therapy Dog.
The TDI test builds on the
Canine Good Citizen Test with
the added requirements of: reacting to medical equipment, leave it,
acclimation of infirmities, and say hello.

Dogs International website.
