dear family,
most of you know that I have finally met the person I want
to spend the rest of my life with. His name is Dave. He is
great and so suited for me. It would mean a great deal to
me if my aunt's and uncle's and cousins could come to my
wedding. The date is July 11, 2009. Save the date! I love
you.

This is a heads up note. The family circle letter is moving now to:

We've decided to stop our service with Sonic.net due to their prices not being
competitive relative to what service they can provide.
Who will be the first person to add to the newly moved letter?
As another note I hope Uncle Dan's joint replacement surgery went well!

I found this really cool website with old photo's of
Detroit...the easiest way to get there is type virtual
detroit into the search engine...something like
dlxs.lib.wayne.edu will come up... just follow prompts to
see all photo's in the collection....type in Precious
Blood or Mercury theater, or any number of pictures of old
Detroit you want to see .....it's a little difficult to
get to, but the picture of the Mercury theater looking
down Schaffer is amazing you can see Wrigleys,
Woolworth's, A&P, Cunningham's, Federal's, and even the
drug store across 6 mile road...the PBS photo's show the
sanctuary before all the murals were added....I'm sure
there are plenty of photo's y'all might want to see as
well......enjoy!

it says on the website for the gratitude campaign that it is
not an official ASL sign, so those who use sign language may
not recognize it as "thank you from the bottom of my heart".
They ask you to only use it for service men and women and
not those who use sign language to communicate.
Still love you all,

Hello Family,
Jill's sister, Jenn, sent this e-mail to me and I think it
is a very cool way to show your support for the troops when
you might feel awkward or didn't say thank you and wished
that you had (that has certainly happened to me). It is a
sign language way to say "thank you from the bottom of my
heart". Check out this link and next time it might not be
so hard to thank them.

This is how it manifests.
I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in
the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs
washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on
the front porch table that I brought up from the mailbox
earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I put my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the
trash basket beside the table, and notice the trash basket
is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table
and take out the trash first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mail
box anyway (and the mailman picks up the mail at noon) I
may as well pay the bills first. So I take my check book
off the table, and see that there is only 1 check left. My
spare check book is in my desk in the study, so I go
inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke
I'd been drinking earlier this morning.
I know I am going to look for my check book, but
first I need to push the Coke can aside so that I don't
accidently knock it over. The Coke is warm, so I decide to
put it in the refridgerator to make it cold again. As I
head toward the kitchen with the can of Coke, a vase of
flowers on the dining room table catches my eye....they
need water.
I put the Coke on the dining room table and
discover my reading glasses that I have been searching for
all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I'm going to put more water in the flowers. I
set the glasses back down on the table, go to the kitchen
sink to get a jug and fill it with water and suddenly spot
the TV remote on the window sill. Someone left it there.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that
it is on the window sill, so I decide to put it back in
the living room where it belongs, but first I'll water the
flowers. I pour some water in the jug, but spill some on
the floor. So I set the remote back on the kitchen table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down
the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
-the garden is still dry
-the car isn't washed
-the garbage hasn't been taken out
-the checks aren't written for bills
-there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the table
-there is still only one check in my check book
-the flowers don't have enough water
-I can't find my glasses
-I can't find the remote
-and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done
today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all
day, and I'm really tired now.

Let me add my wishes to all y'all (hope that makes you feel
better this aftertoon John) for a great New Year.
Our Christmas was fantastic because Matt, Amy, Liam and
Lochlan and Andy and Rhea were here to share in the
happiness of all being together.
We had a get together at our house Christmas Eve with Bob &
Diane, Kelly, Don and Payton along with John & Char Dirks
and some other friends. That was a lot of fun too.
I hope all of your holidays were equally happy.
Meanwhile, on another subject.... If I haven't talked to
you about it yet, I just wanted to let everyone know I'm
having another major joint replaced (get your mind out of
the gutter Mike Stevenson). I go in to have my right
shoulder replaced next Monday morning. The doc says I'm
just one of those unlucky guys born with an overactive
arthritis gene. And to think when I was young all I worried
about was going blind. : )
Again, have a great 2008 - and for those of you back east -
try to stay warm.
I love you all.

Hi everyone!
great stuff aunt mary and uncle johnnie. choked me up a
bit. great memories. i feel bad for the young people in
our family who weren't blessed to be around gramma and
grampa (i wonder why i always say gramma first?).
many of you know this but my wife's uncle was our priest
growing up (St. Patrick's parish in Union Lake). total
coincidence. he is monsignor Bob Humitz and is now
retired.
he sends us a christmas card with an update of his year
every christmas. i wanted to share his parting words
because i thought it was so well worded:
"as a ballooning friend of mine once said 'any landing is
a good landing'. so, any year you make it to the end is a
good year. Christmas gives us a time to appreciate all
that is given to us. especially, God coming to be one
with us to teach us how to accept our humanity, no matter
how fragile or broken. it is His love for us that enables
us to love and accept each other and make Christmas what
it is really meant to be and the world a better place to
live. i wish you the best in the new year, and that it
will be a year in which we end all war and experience the
Peace of Christ that we celebrate on these Christmas
days. Merry Christmas!"
he'll be at our house Christmas eve and I always greet him
and say merry Christmas Uncle Father Bob!

Johnny~
That is all so true... in fact Just yesterday I was outside
in my NEW driveway and my neighborhood reminds me so much
of Perkins that it brought back a flood of memories and how
much we took Mom & Dad for granted...( can it be helped???)
What they both went through to raise us and "be there" for
us... I never ONCE felt slighted.... never... everything
always felt right! The sacrifices they made~ and they were
so good at it that of course we took it for
granted and didn't even realize we were doing it.. ...there
was never any grumbling to make us feel
like~ wow what a sacrifice... but NOW when I think back I
wish I could be saying this to their faces and hug them so
tight so they would KNOW how much it WASN'T taken for
granted ... how THANKFUL we all are for EVERYTHING they
ever did...I can only pray they DO know now ( in heaven)
looking down on us... I sometimes feel like I get these
little "visits" from them like when Janie coughs in
church ...it's Mom... or Nancy's or Sally's inflections in
their tone of voice when they say my name...
or their laughter...I hear Dad in Gerry's and I hear Mom in
my sisters... it's incredible... and I miss them sooooo
much too... especially at Christmas...
Well... I pray everyone that can come will be blessed by
our church Christmas program... it is really going to be
great!!! Cole and John and the rest of the team have worked
so hard and tonight it really showed at the dress
rehearsal... I am so excited!!! go to orchardgrove.org for
tickets (THEY'RE FREE!!!) but you need one to get in early
otherwise you have to wait till 10 minutes before to get
in... I can't wait for you all to see it!!!! The graphics
are superb and the music is awesome...
I love you all~ I pray you all have your best Christmas
EVER!!!!

Author: jamg1971@aol.comMemories of Dad
As I'm living out my life with all it's twists and turns
(with only 2 kids) I'm constantly amazed at what (and I
have to imagine) dad went through..I mean with having kids
from newborn thru 20yrs, plus 10 others inbetween, and
everybody having their own set of circumstances and
situations....how in the world he kept from going off the
deep end I'll never know....Although we were all perfect
children, the stress of having 12 perfect children should
have been enough to do him in.....I remember waiting for
him to get back from Detroit so we could go on the
boat...when he got home, mom would make him some lunch and
we'd have to wait some more (not even thinking he'd been
up since 4:30am)...but wasn't it fun when he'd push
himself away from the table saying "ALL RIGHT"... you knew
it was time to go....and what patience! He'd pull everyone
who wanted to try and ski again and again until they'd got
up....I bet we could write a book about how amazing dad
was, and how much he did for each and every one of us...I
miss him a lot! Like Nancy, I too wish you all a very VERY
Merry Christmas, with the emphasis on Christ. There used
to be a song out called "I wish you Jesus" it's a song
about wishing you good health, good times etc etc but at
the end of the song the singer says but I wish you Jesus,
because when I wish you Jesus, I've wished you EVERYTHING!
With Joy!

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes. Mary, I will be

38th year in a row !! We have never not had lunch together
on or near our birthday since we started in 1969. We now
actually get together many times throughout the year. She
never had kids and she now treats my kids like they are her
own Grandchildren. Just a strange side note to this story.
When we took Julia to her first day of Kindergarten in 2001,
we had Mrs. Montagano come with us. When we introduced her
to Julia's teacher, we asked her just for fun what her
birthday was. April 10th. Sure enough, that is our
Jessica's Birthday too ! So the next year when Mrs. LaPointe
became Jessica's teacher, we started the tradition with her
too ! They have had lunch together on their birthday every

very expensive gifts for my birthday. Excellent !!!

Well...
We are slowly but steadily settling into this new home of
ours and I have to say I am loving every second of it... I
can't believe it took us 36 years to finally be able to buy
one but now that we have it I am thanking the Lord daily
for allowing it to happen!!! To HIM BE THE GLORY FOREVER!!!!
What a wonderful way to celebrate Jesus' birthday...as I
feel this truly is a gift from God...trusting in Him and
seeking Him first... and in HIS timing He has blessed us
like I can't even believe... I vowed I would use this house
as a testimony to His Grace and honor Him with the
responsibility of it all... The Bible says to show
hospitality in your home and now We have a home we can do
that with ~ so just as soon as we are done with putting
everything in its place we will have you all over... maybe
a Bar-B-Q in the spring.... getting through the holidays is
all I can keep up with right now...there are still tons of
boxes and bags all over the basement! Unfortunately I
didn't get the GERRY gene that allows him to move into a
new place and have it look like they've lived there all
their lives in a matter of 2 or 3 days!!! But I'll keep

Whoa... Jenny...40??? How did that happen??? Jenny should
be turning 26 or something... but then again... Cole will
be 33 on 12/12 and Danny Alex was born before Cole and
Danny was born when T & E's other kids were alot older ( I
remember no one wanted Danny to grow up from being a baby
because it was so much fun having a baby in the family
after so long!) So I guess that would kinda make sense
but ...MAN!!! Time sure is a flyin!
I believe it is Melissa's Birthday today too? Am I right?
Something makes me remember that there was an article in
the paper about Aunt Lizzie, Jenny and Melissa all having
their birthdays on the same day!!! How cool! Well... have
a very special day you 3 and happy 2 days late birthday to
Joy in Alabama... and to Star Barry that same two days
ago... you guys have all probably celebrated your birthdays
on Thanksgiving eh? I know Star did cuz I think he was
BORN on Thanksgiving... FUN!!!
so Happy Holidays to each and everyone of you!!!!I love you
all more than you'll ever know! (But it can't come close to
the love Jesus has for us!!!) I hope you will all find a
closer relationship with him this Christmas... Yes,

Hello Everyone:
Just wanted to wish Jenny Palmer a happy 40th birthday. I
hope you're enjoying your special day. They say that Life
Begins at 40 and I'm not sure why; but you still look like
a kid to me and I know you have the energy of a teenager.
I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. What a feast
we had and we spent from Tuesday until Saturday at the
cottage in Caseville. All my kids came and this has not
happened for 13 years!! We had a ball and it might just
become a tradition.
Now the busiest time of the year is upon us and I pray all
of you are in good health as we celebrate the birth of
Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. It's funny how
many people want to remove manger scenes from public
places and yet Santa Claus is welcome. The only reason we
have Christmas is because of Christ. It is what it is.
I love all of you so much. It's been a wonderful year and
I can't wait til I see many of you next July at our 2nd
Stevenson family reunion!
God bless....Nancy

Happy Thanksgiving to all. We sure do have a lot to be thankful for, I'm
especially grateful and thankful to be part of this awesome family! Jim this truly
is a day to celebrate life, most especially yours this year. Thank you God for
healing him for us.
As I was praying the other day I came across the following verse, and tonight I
came across it again so I take it as my prompt to share it.
It is from 2 Timothy (a letter from St. Paul to Timothy) Chapter 1 vs 3-5.
Sub heading: Thanksgiving.
"I am grateful to God, whom I worship with a clear conscience as my ancestors
did, as I remember you constantly in my prayers, night and day. I yearn to see
you again, recalling your tears, so that I may be filled with joy, as I recall your
sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice
and that I am confident lives also in you."
How about that!? This thanksgiving I'm especially thankful for the sincere faith
that truly did live in "our Eunice" and I'm so grateful that this faith lives in so
many of us today, and is more and more shared. May it continue to spread!
Happy Thanksgiving, what a privelege it is to be "one nation under God!" and
have this awesome day. God Bless our family.

bowls with different dressings, some with walnuts, some
with pecans (southern persuasion) some with onions...we
will give an official report after Thanksgiving....speaking
of thanksgiving, I saw a cool sign that read "The sure

have much to be thankful for...God bless y'al real good

Hey Johnny (or anyone else that can try to remember)~
I think Mom cut up apples (I think with the skin on but
I'm not 100% sure) and added walnuts, raisins, small bits
of celery, I don't remember the onions either... and then
she mixed it all with miracle whip to taste and I believe
that is all there was to it... but Miracle Whip was
definitely what made it taste sweeter..I don't think real
mayo would taste the same... so hopefully that is it...let
me know :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving day... I know
we ALL have LOTS and LOTS to be thankful for!!!! Can anyone
say Jim Nichols:heart attack survivor???
I saw a sign along the road the other day and it said~
"Hope this is your happiest Thanksgiving ever"
Well I know it will be ONE of the happiest Janie's ever
had and I know it will be ONE of the happiest we've ever
had (celebrating in our new house...)I can't wait till it
is all painted and finished ... I'm hopeful it will be
ready for Christmas~
We had great weather during the move and we are
about 70% moved in...we have till DEC. 1st to be totally
out of the old house and into the new place and I am
confident we'll be done.
SO ...once again.... I love you all and have a GREAT

Author: jjnk@bellsouth.netOh there's NO PLACE LIKE HOME for the Holidays!!!
Hello my wonderful family~
Well... I can finally tell you all our exciting news!!!
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! Some of you have already known that we
were trying but we CLOSED on this past Wednesday and are
now officially HOMEOWNERS!!!
We are very excited to get ready for the Holidays (you know
how Christmas is my very favorite holiday!) and Johnny and
Sarah are moving in with us and the house could not be more
perfect for the 6 of us to live in!!!
There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with plenty of room to
be "cozy" together or nooks and rannies when one prefers
to "get away" alone... and it is on a corner lot so that's
very cool...we have a lake association with a very nice
beach within walking distance so that will be awesome to
take the grandkids to...
SO I just want to say THANKS to ALL of you who've prayed
for this day to come for us all these years...it truly is a
dream come true!!! And I especially want to PRAISE Jesus
Christ because I believe with ALL MY HEART that HE HAS
HEARD OUR PRAYERS and has given this blessing to us!!! We
will continue to do everything we can to HONOR HIM with our
finances and our faithfulness... and to share our blessings
with others!!!
I am so excited to have you all over (at some point in time
soon) to see how creative Sarah Jane is in her decorating
ideas...and the 2nd best thing is that we are only FIVE
miles from Cole and Sarah and their kids and just THREE
miles from our church ...OH YEAH!!!
So thank you all again for all your support through the
years... I am the most fortunate person in the world to
have a family like ours...
ALL MY LOVE,
Mary
p.s.
for those of you who still may not know...Sarah and Johnny
are expecting again in May!!! Gramma and Grampa's heritage
continues on....

Author: jamg1971@aol.comTHE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING! THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!
Hello All My Loved Ones:
First of all I want to wish Ben a happy 26th birthday from
the Godparents. It's kind of interesting that both my
Godsons are worship leaders. I'm quite proud of you both
(Ben and Cole).
Secondly, believe it or not, I heard my first Christmas
song this morning about 7:30 on the radio, "Joy to the
World" by Phil Driscoll from his album "Let Heaven and
Nature Swing". I think I sent a copy of that album to
you, brother Bill, several years ago; but if I didn't I'd
like to do that. (Also to anyone who would like it. It's
pretty cool.)
Speaking of Christmas, I want to tell everyone that
Orchard Grove Church will be having their annual, fabulous
Christmas program and Mary will be singing an awesome
rendition of "What Child is this". The program will be
Saturday, December 22nd at 6:00 PM and on Sunday, December
23rd at 6:00 and two performances on Christmas Eve, I
believe, at 4:00 and 6:00. Tom and Esther, make plans for
this if you can.
And I want to mention that Mt. Zion Hilltoppers are
sponsoring a catered full course dinner and an evening of
entertainment (of which I was asked to perform two or
three songs) on Saturday, December 1st at 6:00. They have
me billed as Doris Day so I guess I have to sing a Doris
Day song plus one or two Christmas songs. It will be held
at the Seymour Lake United Methodist Hall on the corner of
Sashabaw & Seymour Lake Rd. The cost is $15.00 per
person. If anyone is interested, let me know. I know
it's a crazy busy time of year but if you're looking for
something to do, it will be fun. Also billed is Paul &
Linda McCartney, Eda Jones, Little Anthony and many more.
Everyone around here and all over the country is praising
God for Jim Nichols speedy recovery. I know the entire
family will become more conscious of health matters. The
Lord has brought many of us through some scary times.
Where would we be without Him. He's our peace.
We're having Thanksgiving at the cottage this year. I
hope the weather stays over the average temperature for
this time of year. It's been so beautiful. So, all of
you have a blessed Thanksgiving; there are so many
blessings to be grateful for and answeres to prayers.
Love,

Author: jimnjane@comcast.netJim Nichols had a heart attack !
Hello family,
As most of you have heard by now, today, Saturday, October
27th at around 4:00 p.m. Jim Nichols had a heart attack.
This would be a good chance to take advantage of the
circle letter to get info to those of us who have easy
access to a computer.
Here are the details as we understand them right
now....keeping in mind that they have been handed down
several times, so they could be a little less than
perfect.....
Jim was at home and had some severe pain and was smart
enough to call 911.
Janie was away on a girls' weekend.
Jim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac.
Poor Janie got the call when she was at least 2 & 1/2
hours away ! That had to be a horrible drive for her
getting to the hospital !
We just got a report from Nancy at 9:00 p.m. saying that
they were told that making that 911 call early
SAVED JIM'S LIFE !!!!!
He had a 100% blockage in the right descending artery.
He had a heart cathaterization, they found the blood clot;
removed it and put in a stent.
His other main arteries are 70% blocked.
He will need 2 more stents to be put in a few weeks from
now.
Right now he is stable; he is in intensive care, and will
probably be in the hospital for 5 days.
Please understand that I may not have all of this
accurately, but I'm sure someone will be able to clarify
everything soon.
I will continue to add any news that we hear until someone
closer to the situation is able to do more accurate
reporting.
In the meantime, let's keep Janie and Jim in our prayers.
Love,
Tom & Esther

Awwwwww!! I never heard that story about Bourbon Street! I

(that's how SHE spelled it) were that of her always
tearing up whenever something emotional came on TV or a

first time she saw the "Unforgettable" video with Natalie
and Nat King Cole (I was at Aunt Sally's watching TV with
Ami, Summer '91) and thinking it was a little strange but
knowing thats just how she was. (Needless to say I used
that song for my father/daughter dance at my, ahem, first

get choked up about something at least every other day.
That and I find myself taking my hands up to my face like

I have my memory of Grandma Eunice, which I shall

while, exhorting everyone to share a memory and then not
sharing my own. It is just that I needed to think of one
and I left that out of my letter.
My memory (no. 1) is that Steven and I went to
Grandma & Grandpa Stevenson's to spend the night (I
believe this is before Erin's birth)and someone dropped
off a litter of puppies on the porch that night. Grandma
spent the night in the room (Terry & Johnny's @ the time)
with us with a rolled-up newspaper and she kept smacking
the side of the bed with it when a dog would whimper. I
think we slept a grand total of 2 hours that night.
My 2nd memory is when I took my fiance Alan to

believe it was 'Pennies from Heaven') I told Alan "That's
my Grandma." he said "Where?" and I pointed to the stage.
I knew that I had told him we were a musical family but
that kind of cemented it for him that moment. I believe
that was sometime in 1990.This is a classic memory of
mine that I cherish.

Tom & Esther are coming to Michigan next week for
Esther's Up North week with her girlfriends.
That means that Tom Stevenson will be on his own.
He will be homeless from Tuesday October 16th - Wed. 24th.
Maybe some of you could give him shelter, a meal and some
tender loving care !
Enjoy having him all to yourselves.
I LOVE hearing about all of his sibling adventures,
in fact, I even have him keep a little journal so I don't
miss anything !!!

Author: tomnesther@comcast.netMemories and a second challenge
To the woman I hold as one of my greatest heros! Well one
of my favorite, probably mentioned before, was going to
the lake as a kid, and in the opening of the crawl space
she had a coffee can, with hole punched in the lid and had
a salamader in it for me, she knew how much I would love
that, but I wonder if she know how long I'd keep the
memory, I still can't imagine her picking it up, but that
is what love does! I also cherish the time I got to spend
with her when Grandpa had his heart surgery at MSU, and
favorite of favorites (strange though it seems) was being
able, or should I say challenged, to climb beside her in
her bed at the Raspberry Patch (I think that's what the
care center in Goodrich was called)toward the end of her
life and read from the Bible to her to give her the
comfort she so loving gave to all of us. Uncle Dan, it
was my "I love you forever" moment.
Now onto the challenge: As you all now know from reading
these notes, it is 10 years ago this November that Grandma
went to her enternal reward and no doubt heard the
words "well done, my good and faithful servant"! So in her
honor of I would like all of us Michiganders (out of
towners most welcome!!) to band together and Serve at a
soup kitchen hopefully the weekend just prior to November
12 (as the 12 is a Monday).
I've done this before with a church group in downtown
Detroit, we made 3,000 Peanut butter and jelly sandwich's
and then served them along with clothing and other things
for St. Al's soup kitchen. We could also do this in
Pontiac for better participation for those out there. Any
suggestions for a place I can contact? I think we would
need about 20 of us or so, hopefully more. Grandma always
saw Christ in the poor, and everyone she met, so what
better way to honor her life that to spend a day living it
as she would. You know she and grandpa will be right
along side us!
To quote a favorite saying of her's :
"God Bless you Honey!" (can't you feel her hands so gentle
on your face?? : )

Author: tstevens@visteon.comMore Mom Memories
Hello Everyone!
I had such a busy birthday weekend and this week of course
flew by, that this is the first chance I've had to read
the circle letter in a while. I had a great birthday and
I'm still amazed at the fact that now I have to use my
medicare card for chiropractor appointments. You never
think that day will come; it's really quite shocking, but
I'm so grateful for my health and all my blessings.
Lisa, I have a few memories of grandma I'd like to share
of the millions stored away. Some I've mentioned to
several people, I'm sure, but never printed them (probably
because they were loving chidings that she would always so
tactfully do). I always remember Dad saying that Gertrude
Gordan may have had a degree, but Ma had more common sense
in her little finger than any woman he ever knew.
Anyway, here are some quotes that still ring in my ear and
I wish she were still here to say them in person: "Nancy,
if you would just put things away....." and "You've got
more shoes than brains". She's so right. The best one of
all is also a question that I asked her once when we were
on retreat many, many years ago. I said "why does God
love us so much?" I can still remember her answer in that
small retreat room. She said, "You know how much you love
your children?" Well, God is the ultimate Creator of each
of us; He's our Father. He loves us with an eternal love
that we cannot even comprehend! Anyone of us would die
for one of our children; He died for each of us because He
had to; it's just the way it had to be in order for us to
live eternally in heaven." I might be paraphrasing a
little, but her words stayed in my memory all these
years. What an awesome teacher she was!
It's a beautiful time of year in Michigan although I don't
like to see winter coming. It's been a great summer,
especially our Branson trip. Hope to see as many of you
as possible next July for our second Stevenson Family
reunion.
With love always,
Nancy

Hello family !
I am having a very sweet de-ja vu moment.
Today is Relay for Life Day for us here in Wicomico
County, Maryland.
I am thinking about the year when so many of you
were here with us.
What wonderful fun it was for us having you here !!
We will always treasure that time with you.
The year that you were here, with Jenny and Tom
being the local chairpeople for our Relay, our little
community raised over $350,000....which was
more money... per capita... than any Relay in this
nation !!!!
Thanks for your part in that.
But mostly, I just so fondly remember that so many
of you were for us.
I LOVE whatever brings a family together.
It is now noon on Friday and Tom, Jenny, Kathy and
Danny,...along with about 100 other people are at the
stadium getting set up for the event that starts today at
6:00 p.m. I am just starting to bake 24 dozen cookies.
If you want one of my warm, fresh baked chocloate
chip cookies, stop by !
In the words of Bob Hope,
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !

As a young girl, I use to love to ask what I thought were
hard questions to mom to see how she'd answer them.
Example: Do you think the blessed mother was pretty?
Answer: If you could create your own mother, wouldn't you
make her pretty? If God is so wonderful, why do we
fear him? Answer: He's just, and you know how you love
your father very much, well sometimes you're affraid of him
and come to me to go to bat for you when you're in trouble
or so. O.K. what about the ark...really? Sally we're
talking about the SUPREME BEING here and with God,
everything's possible (and still is to this day yeah

Funny how she never really had to elaberate. Though she
only went to the 8th grade she was always smart to me!! I
miss her daily !! I miss all of you too who aren't around
this neck of the woods. Hope you're all well.

Ok Lisa~
Here is the Eunice Challenge:
Gramma was an amazing writer...though many may not know
this... she should've written a book... she had a way with
description and a know how to make her writings come
alive ... She would write conversations to God on paper
about how she felt about being lonely cause many of her
children were so far away ...or sad because her children
had wandered away from the Lord...even those who were once
very close to God when they were younger... she put alot of
feeling into her writings and you could see here inner
heart while reading them... I will look for some and put
them on this circle letter...you'll all see what I mean...
I miss Mom so much and Dan, I loved the way you talked
right to her on this Circle letter...like she could read
it...and I believe she can... and I know she and Dad are
amazed at all the "life" that is following through the
years after their passing... I miss them both so much...
that sometimes if I think about it too hard....I just break
down and lose it cuz it hurts so bad...
Grampa had a poem above his desk that was called SLOW ME
DOWN LORD and it was about taking time for the small things
because before you know it...they're gone! And just like
that ...THEY were gone...so I just want to tell you all how
much I love you and I miss all of you who are so far away
and SO look forward to our next BIG Stevenson family
reunion...As Bonnie Raitt so perfectly said it in one of
her songs..."Life gets mighty precious~ when there's less
of it to waste"...
Remember... the love that Mom (Gramma) had for us all
cannot even come close to the Love that Jesus Christ has
for us ~ but Mom had the love of Jesus living inside her
and
that is how she could love us all so completely! What an
amazing gift she was and I am so thankful God blessed our
family with her!!!!
I love you all!
Happy "Mother's" (birth) day!

Wow Johnny, you the man!! I know the feeling to get back
into those old jeans again. I recently got up to 203,
then joined a biggest loser contest at work (with 4 of us)
and guess what, I took the title with a loss of over 20
pounds in about 6 months. This was done only through
changing my eating habits. It was awesome to go from tight
36s to 33s - my goal was to get back into my 34s. So I
agree with Johnny, and I followed the same diet type, less
of what I normally eat. The work out part is hard for me
too, but that is my next step and will get me to my final
goal of 5-10 more! Chocolate is still a challenge for me,
but a little bit, once in a while from one candy bar per
day has worked well for me. Don't give up!

Hello all you Bransonites,
I just wanted to let you know that I have reached my
weight goal....when I was in Branson, I weighed 182 which
was about 25lbs lighter then when I started losing weight
in April (206-210 apprx.) My goal at that time was to weigh
165...well I've made it, and the only thing I had to do was
starve myself everyday! Actually I ate (almost) everything
I ate before, only so much less.... Instead of half a
pizza, only 1 or 2 slices...instead of 2 double
cheeseburgers, fries, pie, and a large coke....1 grilled
chicken wrap, with water....instead of a large bowl of ice
cream with chocolate syrup whipped cream nuts etc... 1
popsicle....I chewed a lot of gum...cereal for breakfast
and dinner (most of the time) The only thing that I have
pretty much stopped eating is chocolate and most other
candy....Now that I've gone under 165, my new goal and
average weight I want to stay at is 163....I'm now working
out on my home gym (again)...I've been at it now 5 days a
week, 15-20 minutes a day for 4 weeks... I'm just beginning
to notice some results....Although it is so hard to force
myself into the exercise room each morning, I'm hoping to
stay at it from now on....So any of you who want to loose
weight, take it from me, it is possible...if I can do it
you can do it....the most fun part is now getting into size
32 jeans, when before I started loosing weight my 38's were
almost too tight.....

Dear Family:
As many of you know, Carol Hayes O'Connell passed away
this morning from kidney complications along with other
health problems. She was 67 years old. Our prayers and
deepest sympathy go out to her children, to Sharon and
Bill, and to the entire Hayes family.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 at St.
Perpetua Church in Waterford. She will be laid out at
Elton Black Funeral Home in Union Lake.
Brian and I went to the St. Theresa Reunion last Friday
night and we saw many friends of Brian and his brothers
and we saw Mary Anne Stackpoole and I told her about
Carol's illness.
Mom and Dad were honored at Our Lady of the Lakes
Homecoming Game on Saturday. Gerry, Kelly, Sally and I
went to represent the family. We got to go out on the
field and they presented us with a framed plaque with Mom
and Dad's name on it as honorary alumni of OLL. Gerry and
Kelly will keep it right by Fr. Delaney's picture. It was
really nice. Erin Shaughnessy wrote the article. I think
you will be receiving one in the mail.
Well, that's all for now.
God bless you,

Andersonville Rd. Plenty of space...playscape for the

sure that most of us here in Michigan can come up with
accomodations (a big pajama party). It would definitely be
cheaper than renting a place for all of us.

Hi everyone,
I've been on line forever trying to find a place to
accomadate this huge family of ours with no luck. Short of
the place we had last time, there's nothing (cost wise).
We were thinking maybe those of you from out of town could
hook up with family in Michigan. We could also block a
bunch of hotel rooms near by for those who'd like that. We
could have picnics at a park, or our house (like we did for
Jeff's wedding) have it catered, maybe rent a tent, what
ever it takes. Too much time has gone by and time is
short. Please help us brain storm. I know we can come up
with something. We're looking at the weekend of July 24th -
27th. HELP !!! Call Me.
All is well in the Lucca family. TJ and Liam were just
here the week before Coles wedding. It was a nice time.
We love getting to know that boy. Ami's back in school
again. Stevenson & Madeline are in 1st and 2nd grade
already. Matt is plugging away at his building company...
a scary time for sure. My new "WivesRUs" job is starting
slow but sure. For those of you who don't know what that
is, you can go to our web-site www.wivesrus.com.
And by the way, a quick p.s. about my Danny and Nancy's
wedding memory... Denny Potulsky was only 8 years older
then me(almost to the day, we shared June birthdays
together). He was a perfect gentleman and I had a ton of
fun because I felt so grown up. Denny was close family
friend then and still is today. We saw him at Mrs.

good to see him again !!

I have is "Happy Anniversary, Tom and Esther." As Tommy
said, "it seems like only yesterday" that we were picking
out the bridesmaids' dresses (which were really beautiful,
by the way). They could make a remake of "It's a
Wonderful Life" and tell your story. Congratulations on
your journey of 48 years!

Well today when you think of 48 and 30, you get my Mom and
Dad's Anniversary. Yes, 48 years today! and 30?
30 members in their immediate family as a result of the 48
years together.
It does not seeem possible that 48 years have gone by. It
seems like yesterday that we were on Snowden building that
huge snowman, and now 4 of your 16 grandchildren are
college students!
So as the song goes! (well the extended version anyway!!)
Esther and Tommy sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Mary in
the baby carriage, followed by Tommy, Mike, Kathy, Jenny
and Danny. Then comes marriage again adding Doug, then
another baby carriage filled with Melissa, then Mike.
Marriage again with Jeanne, then baby carriages with
Mitch, and Sophie. Marriage with Mike M., more baby
carriages with Katie, Carly, and Molly. Another marriage
with Debbie, more babies in the baby carriage - Julia,
Jack, Jessica, Dillon, and Michael. Marriage again with
Chris, Marriage with Jill and still more baby carriages to
fill with Emilie, Marshall, Grace and Lillian!!
What a fun ride you must be having! We wish you many,
many more! So today we hope you sit back, relax and smile
over the many blessing you have been given, I know we
will. Thanks for all of us!

Author: jjnk@bellsouth.netPRAISE REPORT!!
Dearest Family of Ours,
We just wanted to share a praise report and to ask for
prayer for us once again. After the phenominal trip to
Branson we were driving back to Michigan and the road trip
took it's toll on Kelly's legs and she had what we'll call
a "mini MS attack". She took some bad falls and hurt her
ankle and it was very difficult for her to get around. She
is doing quite well now!!! During this situation I truly
knew how important it is to sell this house to prepare us
to downsize our house payments whereby we could get by okay
if I were to retire after I get my 30 years in (Next
month!!). I plan on staying with GM for a while because
there are rumors that a nice cash offer may be coming to
encourage us to retire so we'll see!!! But in talking to
God I told Him that we place our home and the downsizing
situation in His hands and within a couple of days a lady
came to see our house and made us an offer and we counter
offered and she accepted it!! CASH!! We close Monday July 2
and we have 10 days to be out! Don't know where were going
but we're placing that in His hands too! (Poor God)!!It's
so wonderful to follow such a Supreme Lord!! We are at
Peace. Thanks everyone for your continued Love and Prayers
for us and we are looking forward to the Stevenson Full
Family reunion (Frankenmuth?) next year. The way I had the
lottery when we raised money for Mom's nursing care was a
50-50. each month. 50% went out in prizes and 50% went to
help Mom but the truth be known: Almost all of it stayed
for Mom-Gram. Is our family something or what!!!! We Love
you all so very much, Gerry and Kelly

Hi Sally, I still can't believe you could ever be 30
something...I hope today is really special for you...I wish
I could give you a hug, just for being such a sweetie!
Ok,
Here is a birthday story...Once upon a time there was king
who lived in Africa....all the people lived in thatched
roof houses including the king...The king decided he needed
a regal throne and had one delivered to his house...The
kings wife was very upset because she wanted everyone to be
equal..She decided to take a little vacation, but told the
king the throne better not be there when she got back...The
king was enjoying his new throne for days and days...one of
his servants was watching for the queens return..oh oh, she
decided to come back a week early, and the king hadn't got
rid of the throne..so he sent another one of his servants
to take the throne far out in the woods, so the queen
wouldn't be mad...but the throne was too heavy for one man
to carry, so the quick thinking servant took a rope and
hoisted the throne high up in the rafters out of
sight...Well the queen came home, got the king and said
let's go see if you still have that throne....they went to
the house and the king walked in and was standing right
under the throne telling the queen that the throne was no
longer here, when suddenly the rope broke and the throne
came crashing down, killing the king...The king learned a
valuable lesson that day...

2008 will be here sooner than we realize... but I would
like to hear some feedback as to how the family LOTTO
worked out during that year or two before the 2001 reunion
was held ( thanks in GREAT part to SALLY! )
SO....... Sal~ Did it work? Were we successful? Did we help
very many people get back here to the 2001 Reunion??? Was
it too much work? Would it be better if we had an actual
committee this time?
If it would be worth it to have another one~ but too hard
to take on the SOLO task of it all ... well let's figure it
out!!!
By the time the next one gets here it will have been SEVEN
YEARS since the last one and all those who THEN were only
SIX YEARS OLD will be teenagers... That is just
incredible...In 2001, Mattie "Moo" Sakalian was the newest
baby and last on our FAMILY CIRCLE of LOVE T- Shirt
design... How many babes have been born since then or will
be born by next year ( Hmmmm... anyone with any news????)
Or will Lucy Jane be the last name on the new list? So...
C'mon~ let's hear some SERIOUS feedback A.S.A.P so we can
put some plans into action!!!
2008 ...sounds GREAT, indeed!!!!!!!!
I love you all and can't wait to start reading the ideas!

Hi Family!
I'm still basking in the memories of June 2nd through June
7th, 2007....a week to treasure forever! Everyone's
comments are so special and heartwarming; I had to write
and mention a few thoughts myself.
Suzanne, you are so right! A blessed trip if there ever
was one. We all certainly had the favor of God above. I
can't wait to see everyone's pictures and reminisce and
reminisce and reminisce.
I still say the whole thing was pretty miraculous and it
should have made national news or Oprah or something. (Am
I going overboard?) Some of the older grandchildren were
sure jealous and wanted to be part of the group.
Now we must start to think about next year and an entire
Stevenson family reunion for anyone who can possibly
come. The general concensus is that Michigan would be the
logical place because it is the "home" where we were
raised. I would hope that all the siblings would be able
to be there no matter where we gather for our reunions
each year....California, Arizona, Las Vegas, Alabama,
Maryland or Michigan.
Anyway, it was so wonderful to see everybody and just
enjoy each other and look around at all the beautiful
faces, some of which we don't see often enough. We sure
had fun. I think that Sally and Tony missed their
calling; that was just one of the many highlights. The
Tuesday night jam session was priceless; the fishing was
so fun and I just enjoyed Glen and Andy to no end.
So, I just want to say I love you all and may the Lord
continue to bless this family with all spiritual and
natural blessings from on high.

love to be able to help others start again, with love and
hope! Aunt Nancy and Uncle Brian thanks for your loving
discernment to help give Melanie a clean start in a great
new life. We look forward to meeting her and welcoming her
to a wonderful life ahead of her. The best thing with God
is that ability to truly start again, clean up the past
and begin again to live the way He wants for us to live
and have the help and support of each other to keep on the
right path when we are tempted to stray back. Keep on
keeping on, it's not always easy to do the right thing,
especially when it does not "seem fun", but it is so worth
it. In a society so saturated with self pleasures, free
sex, abundent drinking and so much pressure in the "if it
feels good do it" realm, and me, me, me, it will be us who
need to speak up to to the young and the old, to let them
know that, yes we have all made mistakes in the past, (no
matter the size), but,if we truly want to change, we can.
We can start again(over and over if ned be). We can walk
away from the past, and strive to start over, knowing that
there will be family behind us to support you and
encourage you. I pledge to be one of them, for any one of
you, at any time! Why? Because you're worth it! God's plan
is not always easy, but it is filled with joy, ask today
for what He wants of you, and simply start to listen, I
assure you things will start looking up from then on, not
always with ease, but with hope.
Aunt Nancy and Uncle Brian, Thanks
Love, Tommy

have the potential to be. Each person bringing such talent
and grace and friendship and most of all LOVE and
COMPASSION to everyone!!
How AWSOME it is to be a part of a family that GOD has hand
picked to be the love and guiding light to so many people,
like Melanie. A person so desparately in need of
everything that my Mom and Brian are giving to her, as well
as all the other Stevensons so gracious in welcoming her...
just brings me to tears...
Thank You God for allowing me to be born into such a
LOVING, HELPING, FORGIVING, NON-JUDGEMENTAL, TALENTED and
of course such a FUN FAMILY... a prayer i'm sure we would
all agree in!

June 16th 2pm-??. Invites are going out in the mail over
the next couple days, but hold the date, we'd love to see
you. Also please feel free to bring your instruments and
voices and we can have a good ol' Stevenson Jam session!
As some of you may know Sophie was chosen to join her
classmates on their Mexico Mission trip again this year.
18 students chose to spend their spring break working with
the poor in a garbage dump just outside Mexico City. This
year I had the great privilege of joining her! It was an
absolutely incredible experience. One of the greatest joys
of my life! This was all possible because of the great
love and generosity of family and friends - Thank you!
The following link is an article published by Renewal
Ministries, the group who arranged the trip and led it for
us. Click on the June Newsletter and see pages 5-7! I
can't describe the great joy it was to be serving side by
side with Sophie. We have wonderful pictures and a great 5
minute "slide show" one of the students to share with you
at the party, or anytime. Sophie has been so inspired by
these trips and working with the kids. She will be
pursuing a nursing degree at Madonna University, with a
possible Spanish minor. She has a strong desire to
continue mission trips through out her life in Spanish
speaking countries.

Hello Family:
Just a brief letter to let you know (especially the
Michigan people) that we have an addition to our family
named Melanie McLaughlin. I'm writing this because many
of you will be meeting her at Jeff's Open House and I
wanted to give you a little background. She is 21, an
acquaintance of Bobby Clemens, who needed a place to live
for a time. Her parents died when she was a small girl;
her relatives live downriver and she's not too close to
them. (That might be a good thing). We did not decide to
do this without much prayer and God's leading.
Melanie is wanting a brand new start in life. She became
a Christian on May 8th and I told her that old things have
passed away and now she is a new creation.
So, I know that all of you will welcome her with open arms
like Stevensons do and be the family she never had. I
love all of you so much.

Author: bhnhr12@comcast.netWE LOVE LUCY!!!!
Hello to my family... well I apologize that I am SOOOOOOOOO
late in getting this out but I just want EVERYBODY to know
that SARAH and her husband JOHNNY have had their little
baby girl LUCY JANE!!! She arrived on Tuesday MAY 1st...so
that makes her TWO WEEKS OLD today!!! WOW!!!! how fast the
time goes already~ next week she'll be going off to
college....
She is absolutely beautiful and if you go to myspace and
type in our e-mail address you can see her picture...I wish
we could put pictures up in this site...I know we used to
be able to but I don't think we can anymore ...Scott~ if I
am wrong let me know so we can all start updating our
family photos! Thanks
More exciting news is that Cole got engaged to his girl
on April 28th ...her name is also Sarah so it can be
confusing which Sarah we're talking about so we call Cole's
fiance Sarah May and our Sarah~ Sarah Jane...
We are so happy for Cole cuz they are PERFECT for each
other and we love her love her and her little girl Gabbie
and are very excited to have them as a part of our
family...
Again if you have access to Myspace you can go to the site
and click onto Sarah May's friend picture from ours and see
the whole event caught on camera...it was SOOOOO FUN!!!! He
was playing a job with CALLING MARVIN his band and sang her
the song CRAZY FOR YOU and when it was over he told her he
was "crazy for her" and got down on one knee and asked her
to marry him... SHE FLIPPED OUT!!! Everyone cheered and the
night couldn't have gone more perfect! So this is going to
be a busy next couple of months...
Some of you may not know that Cole has taken on a full time
position at our church as Praise and Worship director... He
is perfect for our church and EVERYONE just loves him!!!
Our church is very contemporary and upbeat ...I know I have
written about it before ( www.orchardgrove.org) but you can
go and check their site out as well to get more info.
Janie & Jim and their family, Sally & Tony, Terry & Chris
and their kids are also coming there as well and Terry
leads Wednesday night services in Praise and Worship ~ I
believe Benny leads Praise & Worship at HIS church and I
thank God that so much of the talent in this family is
being used to help people have a closer relationship with
Jesus Christ! Nancy sings at her church and has for many
years ...I feel like she is the "Christian" Matriarch of
our family as has been a HUGE influence on all of us in
finding and following Jesus...What a wonderful thing to be
serving HIM!!!
SO~
Lots of AMAZING BLESSINGS have come our way and I am SO
BLESSED by it all!!!I have seen MANY miracles in my own
family...nothing "spooky" or "science fiction" about it but
real, TRUE answers to prayers I have prayed for over TEN
years!!! I KNOW that Jesus is ALIVE and it is exciting to
watch more and more of our family FIND HIM!!!
With so many GREAT things happening in the coming weeks...
Jeff's graduation from college in June,Sophie graduating
from High school ( that one REALLY flips me out!!) TJ &
Rachel wedding in July, Sarah Jane & Johnny's wedding
renewal vow ceremony & reception in August then Cole &
Sarah's wedding in September ...man~ the JOY just goes ON &
ON!!! and hey if I've missed anyone else's important
event ...well just add it on to this CIRCLE LETTER...
OH AND HOW COULD I FORGET???? DANNY TURNS SIXTY TODAY SO
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU DANNY...we love you and hope your day
is simply marvelous!!! Also John & Joy will celebrate
THIRTY years of marriage on June 4th!!! WOW!!!!!
Oh it really does just go on and on with incredible
blessings!!!! I am sure Mom & Dad are "smiling down" on ALL
of us with pure joy....So Thank You Jesus... it truly is
A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!
I love you all...

Hi Once Again Everybody!! First of all Kelly and I are real
excited to see everyone in Branson. We will see Bob
Anderson on Tuesday June 5th. Bob Anderson has an e-mail
address of RAAmusic@aol.com if anyone wants to see what
else is available to see in Branson.
I don't know what everyone's flight info is but if anyone
needs a ride to the hotel from an airport, Kelly and I will
be in Branson on Sunday about 4 p.m. so please let us know
if anyone needs a ride to or from an airport. We are
driving so we will have our own car should anyone need it
while we're all together. Our visit to LasVegas was great
and we got to see our friends as well as Bill and Sharon
and Rory. Kelly has started a new therapy for her M.S. It
is an infusion called, Tysabri. It works by preventing
blood cells from being attacked in the brain. It's kind of
scary but there has been some favorable results for many in
clinical studies but also some deaths too so please pray
for this therapy to help Kelly. We are walking for our 10th
year in the walk to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. We
walk through beautiful subdivisions in Birmingham and it's
always a good turnout. Tomorrow is a huge day in our life.
Jeff will be graduating from Eastern Michigan University.
Both of our boys having degrees means the world to us!!!
Both daughter-in-laws do too!! (Better yet). Don't mean to
brag but we are just so thrilled. Jeff's open house will be
at our house on Sunday May 20th. I wish everyone could be
here like we were for his wedding. We are still planning on
selling our house in a pre-retirement move but as of yet
we've not had much luck with selling our house. I will be
eligible to retire this summer but I plan on working awhile
longer to pay off some wedding debts as well as college
debts... Kelly looks great and is sweet as ever and is sooo
excited to see everyone in Branson. All my Love, Gerry

Hello Family:
Thirty eight more days 'til Branson. Halleluiah! I hope
that this will be the first of many "sibling only" annual
reunions as time is getting more and more precious. I do
think we need to plan a Stevenson Family Reunion for the
summer of 2008 in Michigan and get a plan going for future
family reunions possibly in other states. That would sure
be great.
I just wanted to let you know that Brian and I are in a
new business called YTB Travel Network. We have our own
internet travel agency called "Top Flight Travel
Pro.com". You many have heard of this new company (it's
six years old) as it is growing at a fast pace across the
country.
We felt that this was a business opportunity too good to
ignore and we're very excited about it. So, if you will
be doing any traveling in the near future, we would
appreciate your going to the above website and it will
serve you just like any other search engine such as
Travelocity, Priceline, etc.
If you would like to learn more about the business end of
it, give us a call and we'll be happy to tell you about
it. We saw great potential income (retirement income for
us) with no experience necessary, no overhead, no
inventory and many other benefits.
Hope all is well with everyone. See you in Missouri!
Love and blessings,
Nancy

be able to hear it. All is well with the Lucca Family.

Just wanting to let everyone know that Sarah Jane and Johnny
got married last night in a tiny ceremony at our church...
Our baby girl is now:
MRS.SARAH JANE REGAN ( pronounced reegan)
and we are SO VERY HAPPY for her!!! We will be having a
bigger ceremony on August 24th,2007 for all the family to
meet Johnny and to celebrate their joy with them!!! With
the Branson trip and TJ's wedding in July we realize that
alot of out of towners will not be able to come but Sarah &
Johnny know how blessed they are to celebrate with those
who can make it!
You all will come to love Johnny as we have and I KNOW he
is going to make a GREAT ADDITION to the Stevenson family
and he is anxious to get to know EVERYONE!!! He makes Sarah
VERY happy and that makes us happy!! They're renting an
apartment not too far from us. It is really nice and
they have decorated it real "groovy"... you know
Sarah ...she has a real flair for that kind of thing!
So once again...the Stevenson family grows and grows!!! And
now with Lucy Jane joining us in April and then Rachel and
Liam joinging us in July we are VERY BLESSED indeed!!!
Mom and Dad would be crying tears of joy to meet all these
new members as witness to their many prayers so long ago~
"SUFFER THE LITTLE CHILDREN TO COME UNTO ME AND FORBID
THEM NOT~ FOR OF SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN"....
We love you all and can't wait to see you again~
We are overdue to have a BIG Stevenson REUNION... maybe we
should plan one for next summer!!! a SEVENTY YEAR

Happy new year to each and everyone of you. 2007 is going
to be an amazing year for all of us.
I received a new computer for Christmas from my husband
and I want to give you my email address:
newwine2007@comcast.net
I have much to learn but I'm having fun. Mary got me on
my space and I think it's a great way to communicate. For
some reason it seems a lot simpler than E-mail. Of course
I'm limited to those who choose to be my friends; but
that's OK.
The circle letter definitely reaches more of my closest
friends which are all my family members. Anyway, it's a
day of communication and that's a good thing.
Hope you are all healthy and happy and we'll see you in

Hello Dear Family,
Twenty years ago today was a very sad day in the Stevenson
family. Our beloved father went to his eternal home to be
with our Lord forever. Even though it was a time of grief
for us, God's word says "Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15 That's because
He loves us so much that when we return to Him it is a
precious thing in His sight. Our loved ones are gone from
our sight, but never from our hearts. Love is eternal.
We miss you, Dad. Your love for us and your talent was
unequalled and has been passed down to the generations
following you. We praise God for this.
At Christmas time our memories are so good and rich. I
pray all of you have a wonderful holiday and I'm so
grateful for all the blessings and healings taking place
in the family, especially baby Lilly.
Love you all so much.

Danny and I are so grateful for all of your love, prayers
and support while Lilly was so sick. She is doing so much
better. As of her doctor's visit on Thurs., the pneumonia
and ear infections are almost cleared up; and as of today,
she shouldn't be contagious anymore. It's times like these
that make you really appreciate the family you were given.
Everyone pitched in and made a difficult situation a whole
lot easier for us. And, even though Grace "really, really,
really" missed her little sister, she enjoyed her mini
vacation with Aunt Jenny (aka: the activities coordinator.)
Also, as Mom (Esther) stated, the call from the aunts and
uncles was very cool. Thank you all, again! <3 Jill

Hello family,
(As I read this letter over, I see that it got much longer
than I hoped, so let me tell you first that Lilly is on
her way to getting better as I type !)
*******************************************************
Some of you have heard that Danny & Jill's sweet baby
Lilly, (10 months old) has been frightening us the last
few days !
Here is a simplistic timeline of events:
Last Thursday, Dec 7th.......
......Lilly has a routine doctor visit for her well-baby
check-up. All is good except that she has a little cold.
Friday....5:00 a.m....D & J wake up to the sound of Lilly
crying hard ...which turns into a scream....then
sweet baby begins to have a seizure....this is a
first....and terrifying. She goes to the hospital
in an ambulance....(another first !!!)
It seems to be a Febrile seizure which comes from a high
temperature which comes on very quickly. She has blood
work, chest x-ray and a cat scan of her head. All check
out okay. She goes home about 4:00 p.m. and D & J continue
to treat the fever successfully.
Saturday morning....back to regular pediatrician for a
follow-up from hospital trip. Now has a double ear
infection....she goes on antibiotics.
In the meantime Jill's parents have rushed from New Jersey
early Friday morning to be with them. Now on Saturday
afternoon, after the okay from the hospital and seeing the
doctor in the morning, Lilly is on the upswing.....temp
under control, antibiotics working on her...life is good !
So they feel the crisis has passed and they are
comfortable with going home (4 hour drive).
Just after they leave. Lilly is warm again....temp now
about 104!!!! Call hospital...they tell Jill what to do
for the fever.... medicate again.... now they get the get
temp down to `101...
soon after that it shoots up to 105 !!! Back to the
hospital. More tests....this time they show that she has
RSV...Respiratory Syncytial Virus....and pneumonia.
Because she now has 3 different things to deal with...they
admit her.
1....concern about another fever associated seizure
2...double ear infection
3....pneumonia
VIA IV's she is getting fluid in her for some dehydration,
and antibiotics, meds for fever, also she gets breathing
treatments,...etc.
Sunday afternoon Lilly smiled for the first time in many
days; that was wonderful to see !!! They thought she would
be home on Monday, but as of Monday morning they are
keeping her another day because her lungs are still not
clear enough.
WOW !!! the sweet baby really scared us, big time, but
she is on the mend so everyone is doing much better. It
looks like Lilly will have asthma in the future....sorry
Lilly ! But now that Danny and Jill know that, they will
be able to treat her with breathing treatments at home to
help her at other times when needed.
This has been so scary, because all along Danny and Jill
have done everything right..and still things have changed
so quickly.
Their little family has been through a rough few days.
Thanks for your prayers. They LOVED your phone call from
the aunts and uncles at your Christmas party !
I tried to make this letter short and sweet...but couldn't
quite figure out how to do that.
We hope your families are all well !!!!!!!
Love,
Esther

Dear Family:
Nine years ago today Mom (Gramma)left her little earthly
body and rose from it into the presence of our Lord and
Saviour, Jesus Christ. I can still remember her
countenance. It was one of peace and beauty as her immortal
soul and spirit just moments earlier went to heaven, the
eternal home for all who accept the sacrifice of Jesus as
the price paid for our sins. What an unfathomable gift He
gave! And what a blessed and unselfish life Mom had. She
was such an example to each one of us. We loved her so
much. Her love was like God's love...unconditional.
That's the best way to understand God's love for us. No
matter how far away our children seem to be, no matter how
much they cause us pain at times, our love for them never
ceases because it's unconditional and eternal. It's the
same for our grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.
I pray all my loved ones will know this love that the Lord
Jesus has for each one and that He will become(if He already
hasn't) his or her personal Lord and Saviour. He is the
ONLY WAY to that place where Mom and Dad are. Don't we all
want to spend eternity in that glorious place? That was
mom's constant prayer for her "twelve jewels" and their seed.
What an angel she was...a saint, really. Her memory is
forever sweet and always brings a smile and a tear. We were
so blessed to call her mother.
With love to you all,
Nancy

$20.00
Sometimes we just need to be reminded!
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by
holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he
asked,
"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you
but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground
and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives,
we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt
BY THE DECISIONS WE MAKE and
the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or
what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased,
you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we
know,
but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special- Don't EVER forget it."
PLEASE... pass this on, you may never know the
lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to,
or the hope that it can bring.
Count your blessings, not your problems.
And remember: amateurs built the ark .
professionals built the Titanic.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
This is for all the people in this family who may be
hurting today and none of us even knows it...
I love you all.

Author: jamg1971@aol.comA prince of a man, a man of few words, but constant action, has left us
Many of you have heard that Jennifer's father died as a
result of blood thinners and anti-platlet medications
while waiting 8 days for a simple procedure to place a
stent in a blocked cardiac artery. His turn for a cardiac
stent in a cath lab was postponed a total of 8 days while
others "more sick" then him received the simple
procedure. Mike was just 57 years old. He passed, leaving
his mother (who fell in the same hospital braking her hip
and having a very tiny stroke) while waiting for the same
procedure...she got the stent the same day she broke her
hip in the hospital instead of waiting an additional 3
days that were planned for her, His wife Judy of 37 years,
2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws and his yet to be born first
grandchild with Jennifer's sister Jessica.
Mike had recently began an 1400 sq foot addition to his
home adding addtional foundation, plumbing, floors and
walls, this required he tear away the siding on his
previously "finished" home. In addition Mike was trying
to stay afloat running his own 20 unit apartment complex
in the face of rising intrest on a variable rate
commercial loan in California
Mike started out in seminary school but decided instead to
become an LAPD police officer for 20 years riding motor
patrol and performing accident investigation. Mike would
spend his nights adoring his 2 girls (he hand painted
butterflys and dragonflys on their bikes with bannana
seats!) In addition he helped to raise 3 nephews. He and
Judy ran The Gables Bed and Breakfast Inn for 13 years
before entering into "semi-retirement" (good lord)
Recently Mike had helped us to nearly.....complete a 6
month remodel of our kitchen giving up most of his
Wednsdays and many weekends to help us both physically and
technically. He also was very active in his church
building elaborate props for childrens plays, leading
prayer groups and was attempting to broker the purchase of
a facility to permantely house his church. Mike could
have easily lead men into battle or in prayer. He was a
man of very few words but was a great example to all. He
will be missed by a great number of people.
Mike believed his destination to be heaven so they must
have needed a husband, father, son, carpenter, draftsman,
painter, auto builder, furniture maker, sailplane hobbist,
ball player...those that know him understand.
Dears friends and family,
The funeral arrangements for Mike have been finalized. We
are planning a private family burial at Santa Rosa
Memorial Park early next week. All friends and family are
invited to join us for a memorial celebration,
refreshments and fellowship at 1:00 pm Wednesday September

August 14, 2006
My Dear Family, Hello from #12 of the Loven Dozen. I
can't believe that Kelly Carey wrote down this fabulous
idea of a family CD. As many of you may or may not know I
am planning on retiring in the next year or so and I have
been talking about putting a CD together from all the
various family parties we have had in the past. I want to
put a CD together with Uncle Bobby and Uncle Danny
(Grandpa's brothers) and Mom and Dad and if we can somehow
get an old 78 rpm
record player I think we even have a recording of Grandpa
James Ira as well as Mattie playing the piano and Aunt
Betty singing. I think
Uncle John has most of the old reel to reels of years gone
by parties and I know it
would take some considerable time to compile this stuff but
wouldn't it be a treasure for us to have? This could be
perhaps CD 1 and then with
any or all of Eun and Jims kids songs could be CD2 and the
grandchildren could make up CD 3. We have almost 100 years
of recorded Stevensons out there and when I retire in 2007
that will be my biggest project to look forward to.
Kelly has really been struggling with her walking and she
just this week got a Hoverround type of powerized
wheelchair to get around the house with little effort. Our
insurance fully covered it and what a blessing from God
that will be for her. We have put our house up for sale and
we are planning to downsize to a newer manufactured home
perhaps in Holly about 10 miles from Clarkston. This will
significantly reduce our monthly overhead. Kelly
is still tutoring a couple of kids this summer and we hope
she will get a few more in the fall. General Motors has
really been hit hard with this economy and my overtime
hours have been cut. GM is calling us back into the GM
Plant due to a large number of employees that retired early
from GM. I will be leaving
Lear where I have worked for the last 11 years and
returning to the GM factory where Jane retired from. I'm
not sure when this is happening yet but that is another
reason I am planning on retiring from GM in 2007. God
willing if Kelly continues to do well, I may find some type
of supplemental work near the house. Dear Tom and Jenny I
so wish that Kelly and I could come to Maryland this year
for the Cancer benefit but hopefully next year we'll be in
a better financial position than we are this year. We
certainly will pray for a total success and May God Bless
all your hard work for such a worthy cause!! We Love you
all, Gerry and
Kelly

What a great idea for a fundraiser - and maybe if we pull
it off we could use the proceeds for Relay and For Aunt
Kelly's MS Walk...
Here's my thought... since many of you fabulous musicians
have already made a CD or 2, maybe we could use some of
those songs for a compliation CD and that would keep the
cost still in an effecitive place...
I will ask Doug French to look into this project, and if
any of you music makers will come on board - what a thrill
that would be. I know here in Maryland we have plenty of
friends who ask when the musicians are coming to town, and
I know we can sell some CD's here.....
Thanks for the great idea Kelly!!!!

Hello Family,
Okay this may be impossible or not cost effective, but I
will leave that up to all you musicians, and shower
singers out there to see if it could work! What if we
created a family CD? Uncle Bill, Tony (T.J.), Cole, Beth,
Uncle Terry, Aunt Mary, Leah, Anna, Uncle Tony, Mary and
Doug, Michael etc. Any contributors would be great. The
music jaundra would be anything and everything, or we
could do a family Christmas CD. I know I would be willing
to pay great money for a CD like this. I know we have
more than 100 family members, then we have freinds that
know our family and our abilities, our churches, our work
places etc. If we charged $10-$15 for it, we would have a
significant amount to contribute to the Cancer Fund that
Jenny and Uncle Tom are volunteering for, and we also
would get the reward of hearing our family all year round,
unless we did a Christmas CD. Okay here is the technical
stuff, I have no idea how much something like this would
cost, or the first steps that need to be taken to
orchestrate this. I will leave that up to the experts
that we have in this great, incredible, loving family!

Hello to my 7 brothers and 4 sisters and all of your
families!
I see that there have been 25,000 hits on our family circle
letter. WOW!!!
I hope that this letter of mine will be seen by all of you!
Jenny and I are once again chairing our Wicomico Relay for
Life for the American Cancer Society.
Last year, with all of our teams working, we were able to
raise $307,000.
Our goal for this year is $350,000.
We have been involved with Relay for the past 10 years as
team “Beat the Beast” and will continue to be involved in
the future. This is our second and final year as co-
chairmen of the entire event. Chairing Relay is a huge
undertaking. Jenny lives and breathes The American Cancer
Society all year preparing for this wonderful weekend. It
is like a full time job for her !. Our hopes are that
someday through all of this fundraising, a cure for cancer
will be found and we will never again lose a family member
or friend to this dreaded disease.
I am sure that this would be music to Dad / Grandpa’s ears.
Our Relay theme this year is “TRAVELING THE WORLD TO FIND A
CURE”. The participating teams have chosen campsites from
many locations all over the globe.
Since we have our Stevenson family is all over the country,
we wanted to ad a campsite that represnts all of us. Last
year we had a Stevenson family team called
“The Out-of-Towners”. This year, my Mary (French) is
planning to have a Michigan Themed campsite, (with all the
yummy stuff Michigan has ie cherries, Sanders Hot Fudge,
Vernors...). We would love any suggestions for this
campsite, and more importantly we'd love to have you here!
Our Relay for Life event starts on Friday, September 29th
at 4:00 p.m.
It continues until Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m.
There will be about 75 campsites. Some of them will be
representing Hawaii, Australia, Africa, Fiji, the North
Pole, Memphis, Germany, the Caribbean, Rydell High,
Cooperstown, Mardi Gras, 7 Seas,.....and so on…and of
course, my personal favorite, MICHIGAN !
This year is the 20th anniversary of Dad / Grandpa’s death
from cancer.
I really want to honor him at Relay, and to accomplish this
I need and want your help. Dad & Chris Palmer are the main
reasons that I am so involved.
I was trying to figure an easy way to raise a few thousand
dollars for the Out-of-Towner’s team. Here is a thought
that I had:
…Esther and I have 6 children and with the 2 of us we will
register each of us
with a donation of $10.00 each,… a .total of $80.00.
Our children have 16 children. They will register their
spouse and each of their children at $10.00 each.
For example,…our son Tommy would register his wife and
their 4 children for a total of $50.00. (Remember that we
already paid for him.)
If our whole family was to do this, we could raise close to
$2,000.00…and this could all be done very simply on-line
through our Relay website.
The US mail also works well for those of you without
computer access !
(checks can be written to ACS,,..,sent to
Jenny
Palmer,
27648 Crooked Oak Lane
Salisbury, Md. 21801
Each family could raise money through car washes, lemonade,
cookie stands, writing checks, or whatever great ideas you
may have. This way everyone would become a big part of our
event. It’s good for the kids to be aware of this cause.
Our Maryland grandchildren are so involved that they have
their own team….
Beat the Beast Juniors, Katie Marshall chairs the team.!
Each person who registers will receive a 2006 Relay For
Life T shirt. As soon as you are registered, you will be
sent your t-shirt. (please give us mailing addresses and
sizes !)
It would mean the world to me to have my whole family come
and be with us for this special weekend, …
I know that would be impossible,…. but I would love to have
as many of you as I can get to be here. We had such a great
time last year with you.
I was and continue to be so proud of my family, and I am
sure that Mom & Dad (Grandma & Grandpa) would be proud of
us all, too.
(If you can’t be with us, please wear your T-shirt proudly
on Sept 29th ,
think of us and say a prayer for our success !)
Please give this message to those in your families who
don’t have access to the circle letter.
Thanks for your efforts. I love you all !
from,
the pick of the litter……(according to Esther & my kids !)

Our love and prayers go out to the Rounds family. Our
love to the rest of this huge family too. No news means
good news to me. I hope everyone is having a nice summer.
Let plan a family reunion !!!
TJ has a new website WWW.tonylucca.com He's also going
on tour and could be coming somewhere near you. Please
check it out. He's with other guys so it's not his own
show but he still warms everyone up.
Tony's dad, 85, came through his heart surgury
fantastic, and is now recovering from his pollup removel
surgury (which he said was way worse then the heart
stuff). He was very healthy going into all this stuff to
begin with so that's why he's doing so well now. The man
never even saw a doctor until he was 83. Sharp as a tack.
The lake has been grand and sharing it with any of you
is our most favorite thing to do. Please come visit us!!
We miss you.

Hello Family!
Just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that Jeff
and I did the MS Walk this year with mom and dad (Gerry and
Kelly Stevenson) and came up with this great idea to ask my
place of work to sponsor a charity dance for Multiple
Sclerosis and they have accepted! This event is meant to
help raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and
is being held by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of
Bloomfield Hills, MI. I have gotten permission to invite
all family members and friends, which is normally not
permitted at the studio. Please help us light up the dance
floor and support the MS Foundation by attending on July
8th from 7:30pm-10:00pm. The cost is only $10 per person
and 50% of all profits will be donated to the MS
Foundation. There is no partner or previous dance
experience necessary and no limit on the amount of people
you may invite! The evening will include refreshments,
beverages, ballroom dance demonstrations (yes, i will be
dancing, but please no laughter from the audience:) ),
group lessons, and general dancing. The studio is located
at 2510 S. Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302. It is
at the corner of Telegraph and Square Lake Rd. in the
ComForcare Building on the second floor. We hope that you
will help us in the fight against MS. If there are any
questions you may have, you can contact me at the studio at
248-454-1715. Please RSVP by June 30th. Hope all of you
are doing well. Take care
and God Bless!

Dear Family...
Please keep John & Mary in your prayers this day. Mrs.
Garlak passed away this morning. Mary told me that the
hospital officials were puzzled as to why she was lasting
as long as she had. They asked John if there was anyone she
needed to see. They racked their brains and Mary thought of
her cat (Eddie) that she has had forever. The hospital gave
them special permission to bring the cat up and when they
walked into the room with him, she smiled and the cat laid
down right next to her and never moved for as long as they
were there. They said their goodbyes to her and they got a
phone call this morning. Isn't that the sweetest story?
They are going to have her cremated and are going to have a
memorial service at a later date. Please keep them close to
your hearts. I love you all Janie

As we remembered and honored our Mothers this Mother's
Day, Aunt Mary shared this with me.
"Have you ever heard the song SOMEBODY'S HERO? it's by
Jamie O'neil and look up the words ...you will be flipped
out! It's Gramma!!!"
Here are the lyrics.
She's never pulled anyone from a burning building
She's never rocked Central Park to a half a million fans,
screaming out her name
She's never hit a shot to win the game
She's never left her footprints on the moon
She's never made a solo hot air balloon ride, around the
world,
No, she's just your everyday average girl (but)
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her baby with a skinned up knee
A little kiss is all she needs
The keeper of the cheerios
The voice that brings Snow White to life
Bedtime stories every night
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
She didn't get a check every week like a nine-to fiver
But she's been a waiter, and a cook and a taxi driver
For twenty years, there at home, until the day her girl
was grown
Giving all her love to her was her life's ambition
But now her baby's movin' on, and she'll soon be missin'
her
But not today, those are tears of joy runnin' down her
face
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her daughter in her wedding dress
She gave her wings to leave the nest
It hurts to let her baby go down the aisle she walks right
by
Looks back into her mother's eyes
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
Thirty years have flown right past
Her daughters' starin' at all the photographs
Of her mother, and she wishes she could be like that
Oh, but she already is
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her mother in a rockin' chair
She runs a brush through her silver hair
The envy of the nursing home
She drops by every afternoon
Feeds her mama with a spoon
And that smile lets her know
Her mother's smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
Yes, she was a hero! The great gift she gave to all of us
was her, all of her. Follow her legacy. For those who
knew her, share her, for those who didn't, ask about her.
Heros do exist! Most perform the heroic in the ordinary
day to day. Most share the same title - MOM.
Thanks to all the Mom's out there in this beautiful family.
May God Bless you all, Love Tommy

Hello everyone~
I just want to let anyone who doesn't already know that
John's Mom had a stroke on Tuesday and another on Wednesday
that the doctors say is large and ongoing...I never heard
that a stroke can be ongoing... but nonetheless... she
doesn't have much movement on her right side... she can
kind of squeeze her left hand and she acts like she
recognizes us but can BARELY make audible sounds like she's
trying to tell us something...
We spoke with her doctor last night and he told us that her
swallowing mechanism is very poor... they will know within
24-48 hours if she will need a feeding tube... if that ends
up being the case... she has requested that she doesn't
want that... so she will go to hospice and they will keep
her as comfortable as possible~
This has been a very rough two days to say the least!!!
Please keep John and his sister and sister-in-law and our
families in your prayers as we work through some major
decisions over the next few days...
I love you all and I will keep you posted...

Once again there is sad news in the family .. Brian~
I can't imagine the sadness you must be feeling...but it
is wonderful that you were able to have a nice visit with
him not too long ago...
It is something we try not to think about in our own
family~ yet the fact remains that we ALL are getting up
there in years (Can you imagine~ Mom's BABY is a little
more than TWO years away from 50!!!) so it is important
that we don't take ANY time for granted...
That is why I feel so blessed that we as a family have
stayed SO CLOSE throughout the years and I agree with Bobby
Anderson...PRAYER!!!
Mom and Dad's prayers and the family's collective prayers
for the various events throughout the years... THE FAMILY
THAT
PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER has really been a truism for
our family...
I know you all know my feelings but they bear repeating

I love you more than words can say and I thank you for

Dear Family:
Brian's brother, Kevin, passed away last Sunday, April 2nd
at home in Florida. He was 63 years old and had been
battling lung cancer for about six months. We had a good
visit with him in November and we sensed a peace about him
and a different spirit. We prayed over him and he readily
received our prayers with tears. Kevin had two daughters
and one son and five grandchildren. His children were
with him when he passed away.
His desire was to be cremated with a memorial
service....one will be held in Florida and one to be held
up here during the Hussey golf tournament weekend. Brian
has lost four siblings....two sisters and two brothers.
It's very sad to think about losing anyone in our family.
We are so very blessed that all of us are still together.
When we were in Branson last week, we had dinner with
Bobby and Karen and we were talking about our families all
still living and all the cousins (except for Richard
Nehls) and he said "you know why this is true?" He
said "it's because of PRAYER." We had a great time with
them and their son, Matt, who is such a nice kid. He's
Bobby's light and microphone man. By the way, Bobby sings
better than ever. Matt goes to Missouri State
University. LET'S ALL THINK ABOUT A SIBLING FAMILY
REUNION IN BRANSON NEXT MAY! It's a fun, fun town with so
much to offer.
I'll sign off for now. A happy belated birthday to you,
Sharon. We're going to come out to Las Vegas one of these
days. I miss you guys. Bobby can't say enough about you,
Bill. He's so fun to listen to as he tells of all your
escapades and how all the "greats" think you're a genius.
Of course, we all know that.
With love and blessings,
Nancy

Hello Stevenson Family Everywhere:
Just thought I'd drop a line to say all is well in
Clarkston, Michigan especially with spring just around the
corner.
Gerry, Kelly, Sally and I went to Beth's Detroit Concert
Choir performance last Sunday and it was awesome. We so
enjoyed it, particularly Beth's beautiful solo. (It still
amazes me how a soprano got into our family.) The
director was awesome; he reminds us of Dad. The music was
all sung in another language. I thought
