Eudora 5.2 Setup
This tutorial demonstrates how to set up Eudora 5.2 for Apple Mac OS X to send and receive email using your Sonic.net email account. It is by no means a complete Eudora tutorial. For complete help with Eudora's many features, please consult the "Help" menu within the program, or visit Eudora's complete technical support site.
Open Eudora and click on the menu labeled "Special." Then select "Settings..."

In the "Settings" window, click on the icon in the list to the left, labeled "Getting Started."
- The username should be your Sonic.net username
- The "Mail Server" is 'pop.sonic.net'
- "Real Name" is what is displayed next to your address when people receive mail from you
- "SMTP Server" is 'mail.sonic.net'
- "Return Address" should be your Sonic.net email address

Now, click on the icon in the list to the left labeled "Checking Mail." Some items may already be filled in.
- "Username" will be your Sonic.net username
- "Mail Server" should be 'pop.sonic.net'
- "Mail Protocol" should be set to "POP"
- "Authentication" should be set to "Passwords"
- You can check "Save Password" if you want to have Eudora save your password after you type it in when first checking your mail
- You can select "send on check" if you ever use this computer to connect to another ISP before checking your Sonic.net account.
- If this is the computer you primarily use to check your email account, please do not set Eudora to leave mail on the server for any longer than 5 days. If you ARE leaving mail on the server, and want to set Eudora to check the mail for you, please make sure it checks around every 30 minutes.
- All other settings in this section are optional.

- Next, click on the icon in the list to the left labeled "Sending Mail." Some items may already be filled in.
- "Return Address" should be your Sonic.net email address
- "Default Domain" should be left blank
- "SMTP Server" should be 'mail.sonic.net'
- "Allow Authorization" should be unchecked
- All other settings in this section are optional.

Once you're all through with that, click "Ok" and you're all finished.
