Outlook Express 5.5
- In Outlook Express 5.5 go to your Tools menu, then select
Accounts...

- Select the Mail tabbed page, and highlight your Sonic.net e-mail
account. Click Properties

- On the General tabbed page, be sure that your E-mail
address is correct.

- On the Servers tabbed page, enter pop.sonic.net for
Incoming mail (POP3), and enter mail.sonic.net for Outgoing
mail (SMTP)
In the Account name:, and Password: fields, ensure you have
entered your correct Sonic.net Login, and Password.

- On the Connections tabbed page, be sure that your Sonic.net
connection is selected.
Note: You will recieve a relay denied error if you try to send mail from
mail.sonic.net while you are connected to any other ISP than Sonic.net.

- Sonic.net does not require SSL Connections

- To edit a news account, return to the Internet Accounts window,
to the News, tabbed page, highlight your news account, and select
Properties

- The General tabbed page E-mail address: may be appended
with a .invalid to prevent it from being harvested for Spam
purposes.

- On the Server tabbed page, set the Server name: to
news.sonic.net. Sonic.net does not require you to log on to the news
server.

- Set the Connection tabbed page to your Sonic.net connection.

- Sonic.net does not require an SSL connection.

- Click Apply, and Okay, and close the Internet
Accounts window. Go to your tools menu to Options...

- Sonic.net will automaticly terminate your connection after 15 minutes of
percieved inactivity. To prevent this, on the General tabbed page
check the Check for new messages every option, and set it to
10 minutes.

- On the Connection tabbed page, uncheck Hang up after sending
and recieving.
