Sonic.net founders Dane Jasper and Scott Doty speak at first Mendocino Linux User's Group meeting

Dane Jasper and Scott Doty
at the first MendoLUG meeting

In support of the Linux Operating System and efforts to educate computer users and the public in general about this platform, Sonic.net founders Dane Jasper and Scott Doty spoke before an assembly of Linux enthusiasts, gurus, and novices on May 19th at the Hampton Inn in Ukiah. Sonic.net has a long history with the North Bay Linux User's Group and looks forward to working with the MendoLUG.

Nearly ten years ago, Sonic.net was formed to provide public internet access using Linux as our platform of choice. Sonic.net continues to use Linux-based systems almost exclusively for a wide variety of of services and applications. Mr. Jasper and Mr. Doty were guest speakers along with Dustin Mollo, founding president of the North Bay Linux Users Group and longtime friend of Sonic.net, and Will Ross of the Alliance for Rural Community Health. They shared their Linux success stories and participated in discussion about some of the many uses for this flexible, open-source platform.
