SpamAssassin Flexes its Muscles

During the recent, aggressive increase in Unsolicited Bulk Email (spam) volume worldwide, Sonic.net's SpamAssassin mail filtering system has been proving its worth. Over the past few months, over 80% of messages sent to SpamAssassin-enabled Sonic.net email accounts have been identified as spam and held in Graymail.

The Following graph shows the number of messages per minute evaluated by SpamAssassin (in green) and the number of messages per minute identified as spam (in blue). Some of the increase in the total number of messages has been the result of customers enabling SpamAssassin filtering in our Member Tools. With over two-thirds of Sonic.net customers now using SpamAssassin and Graymail, over 600 messages per minute are being successfully filtered.
