For three years, the Lytton Band of Pomos have been secretly planning a high density reservation project for a 50-acre parcel located in the 1400 block of Windsor River Road, approximately 300 feet west of the Town limits.  This project is being financed by a wealthy Philadelphia promoter in exchange for partnership rights and profits in the existing San Pablo Casino.  This project is in direct conflict with established zoning ordinances of the Sonoma County General Plan and would result in removal of oak woodland and irreparable damage to the environment.  According to the Lytton’s application with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) the project will include 50 to 97 residences (5 to 10 times that allowed by current zoning regulations), a ceremonial building, an administration building, water well complex and a private sewage plant!  IF THE LAND BECOMES TRIBAL LAND, IT WILL NEVER BE SUBJECT TO LOCAL OR STATE LAWS AND DEVELOPMENT AND ACTIVITIES ON THE SITE WILL BE UNREGULATED FOREVER!!!  Time is running out, the Lytton Band is trying to quickly and quietly force these developments through the BIA, at which point NO AGENCY OR INDIVIDUAL WILL EVER BE ABLE TO CHALLENGE THEIR LAND USE SCHEMES!

Representatives of the Lytton Pomos claim they will not build a casino on the Windsor River Road parcel.  However, under recently passed Proposition 1A, tribes are allowed up to two casinos!  The threat of a casino at the west edge of Windsor would be even greater if the San Pablo Casino site were to become unsuccessful in the future!  Using the threat of a second casino, the Lytton Band would be able to pressure government officials and agencies to do their bidding or face consequences of additional noise, traffic, crime and unregulated development.  Don’t let this happen!
