PHILOSOPHICAL ARGUMENTS by DIRTY HANDS


ARTICLE I . . . . JURISDICTION
Sign Display and Allied Crafts Local Union 510 shall have sole jurisdiction over the following work done by employers; [1] the construction, preparation, erection, and maintenance of all signs, lettering, pictorial work, screen process work, show cardwriting, commercial exhibits and advertising displays, [2] the installation (floor to ceiling) and removal of all exhibits and related materials in connection with trade shows and conventions including but not limited to; [a] trade show and convention booth assembly and disassembly, [b] installation and removal of interior and exterior decorations, flags, drapes and other display materials, [c] uncrating, assembly, installation, removal, disassembly and recrating of all commercial exhibits, [d] installation and dismantling of furniture owned by the employer, [e] installation and removal of floor coverings and special event displays [f] driving trucks of a maximum capacity of 1 1/2 tons in the delivery and or installation/removal of the above work.

ARTICLE V . . . MANAGEMENT PEROGATIVES
Employers retain the sole and exclusive right to manage their businesses, including the following; [1] specify the method of operation, types of equipment used, size of its working force and its production rate, [2] determine the extent to which its plant or any part thereof shall be operated or shut down, or production reduced of increased including the right to hire, promote, transfer (with the consent of the employee), suspend or discharge workers, [3] to establish standards, [4] to schedule its operation and to choose equipment for various jobs.
