Walking through a climax forrest of ancient Coastal Redwoods is a mystical experience. Some days the coastal fog is caught and trapped high in the towering branches and only a diffuse sunlight filters down to the forest floor illuminating sword ferns and sorrel. On other days the rays of sunlight that do penetrate are so clearly defined that they look painted. And every day it's just green. And every morning it smells as if it rained. THESE ARE THEIR LAST STANDS ON EARTH I live in a Redwood Forest and this website is a tribute constructed with odds and ends of information collected over many years. The intent is to be brief, informative and accurate. Corrections and additions are welcome. |
