HARDWOOD TABLEWARE
Every piece of hardwood tableware is intended for use in the serving of food and the finish is approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA)for contact with all foods. This finish neither absorbs nor imparts tastes or odors. And it will not chip or flake off the surface. Regardless of the finish (or the hardness) wood still remains sensitive to moisture and temperature and will expand and contract causing warping and checking. Do no use hardwood tableware to serve hot liquids or allow cold liquids to remain standing for extended periods of time (overnight). When cleaning wash with a sponge and hot soapy water. Rinse and wipe or drip dry. Do not soak in hot soapy water or wash in an automatic dishwasher. Scouring will remove the finish. Knives will deface the wood. Use wooden utensils (spoons, ladles, tongs, spatulas, chopsticks etc.]
Proper care is absolutely necessary to preserve the beauty of hardwood tableware. |
