Student Resource and Grant Assistance Program

Since its inception, ASSIST has diligently attempted to obtain resources and fund projects for students of International Development Technology (IDT) at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. In fact, the greatest impetus for the creation of ASSIST is the expressed desire by IDT students to have a greater access to literary and financial resources.

The Grant Assistance Program is open to any group or individual with a grant proposal that is consistant with mission and goals of ASSIST.

The first attempt to bring resources to the students was conducted in the fall of 1996, with an informal request to Prentice-Hall Books to donate books on engineering principles and environmental techologies. Three volumes were obtained and are located in the IDT Graduate Room at Humboldt State University. This program is continuing in the future, with a renewed effort to make a formal proposal to Prentice-Hall.

In the past year, ASSIST has made several requests to computer technology companies for computers and software.
