Such As This

Such As This

home
the scent of her permeates my clothing
      and i love it
the taste of her still lingers on my lips
      and i love it

there
each motion, each tantalizing movement
      that she makes
renews me - gives me meaning
she leans back,
reaching for something

My god, you're beautiful.

The dim, colored light from the lamp
softly coats your form,
caressing you better than I ever could.
You turn to look at me,
      arms still out
      legs still in my lap
You see me looking
I wonder what my face reveals
of the beauty that I see
      in you.
You smile,
your perfectly featured face glows
with the lamplight

At times,
It's hard for me to believe
that I can touch you
It's hard for me to believe
that you're real

home
i'm staring in the mirror
turning my head from side to side
trying to find what it is
what does she see?

What have I done?
To deserve such as this?

Whatever it is - was - will be
Whenever she smiles . . .

I am thankful.
