Going to the Movies

Going to a movie is much more fun if you go with friends. Yesterday, Josh asked if we all wanted to go see a movie at the last minute (I think it was second to last period of the day), so our whole group went. We're spontaneous like that.

After school, we all invaded the theater, yelling and making comments. Upon seeing a poster in the Lobby, I started a conversation about how all the Movie Companies are recently going together. First they made a bunch of movies about aliens, then disasters, now it's bugs. Weird.

We went up to the front counter and mooched some money off Josh, (I hope he forgets) then went into the theater with our newly acquired candy. Frank wanted to sit in the front, but I reminded him that at the end of the movie, you'd be at least three rows back from where you started, because the sound waves were so strong that they threw you back. We sat in the middle. That way we were only thrown back one row. After the movie was over, we apoligized to the people that had been sitting there and were suddenly smushed at a loud part.

Then, in the previews, something funky happened with the movie. The sound and talking kept going, but the picture went out. I glared up and yelled something. We all looked up to the back of the room, behind the little window and saw the two guys sitting in there drinking coffee and chatting. I stood up and chucked a milk dud.

*thack!*

Those guys jumped like World War III was starting. Then one noticed the picture was out and fixed it. I sat back down, satisfied.

Then, halfway through the movie, a group of these stupid little kids were running around in circles and making a lot of noise. I finally told them to shut up. They said something rude in Spanish and went back to raping each other. Nate asked if he could have a milk dud and I gave him one, still glaring at the kids. Nate suddenly throws the milk dud perfectly at one of the noisy little brats. It ricochets off his skull with a pleasant crack and flies off into the dark. The other kids shut up.

When the movie got out we all ran and chased each other around the blocks, ending up at Carl's Junior and getting something to eat besides Red Ropes and Milk Duds (A nice, healthy diet for growing children.).

I should go to movies more often.
