Rainy Monday Sonnet

Mara Lynn Barbee

----------------------------------------

I drove to class, fighting through a rainstorm,
pulled in to park and saw blue sky through grey;
a frog croaked somewhere, and the air was warm.
Puddles coated ground, mirroring the day.
The creek flowed along, happily cruising;
raindrops from trees aimed for my head with glee.
Geese and ducks in the pond were amusing;
crystal berry raindrops, lovely to see.
Tiny reflections, the world upside-down;
this place is wonderful; how could I frown?
