& where I obtain them

Hopefully this
information will be helpful to you, if you are just starting out in the Wire
Sculpture venture.
The column "Location", is where I obtain
them locally, so it will not be useful to you. Other Wires come from recycled places, such as salvage
yards, scrap yards, etc., where I get Wire from small motors out of appliances
or electronic equipment, or it is in a separate location that has been sorted
(which saves you time from searching) in the salvage yard, so I cruise to it and
rummage through what is available. In a salvage yard, the Wires that
are coated are quite a bit cheaper per pound, than raw Wire, so keep that in
mind. I use very small gauged wires. Generally 19 gauge to 32
gauge and sometimes finer wires. I find it very difficult to come
across brass.
I
compare prices as you can see by my Wire List below, and it gives me a good resource
listing to go by when I get low on supplies. At the end of this list are some
locations (name, address, phone # and/or website) where I obtain supplies, some
are local and would not be useful to all interested parties.
